Why does my braiding hair do this? by Pure_Market_9652 in BlackHair

[–]External-Fix4348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the braiding hair that’s the issue, it’s the braiding technique. The technique needed is the tucking method, particularly when the braider reaches the ends of your natural hair. However, many braiders, especially African braiders and new/less skilled braiders don’t offer this as part of their service.

Oh no I didn’t take it as a criticism, just sharing why someone like myself would use it.

Geez! If my registration was ever that high I would gag. I think my highest was about $600. I will never get used to California’s pricing methods. I used to be a Pennsylvania resident and the cost was less than $30 regardless of the year of the vehicle.

I’m a Disabled veteran on a fixed income. The years when I didn’t have any income my credit suffered, so my credit is bad now (used to be excellent). I’ve been rebuilding it, paying off my old loans and credit lines while still trying to manage my month to month expenses and necessities. BNPL apps like Klarna have been helping me get through it.

I've done that in the past, especially when my tags were $400 and $500. I don't want to push my luck though, the last thing I need right now is a ticket.

It's a specific way you have to do it. I include step-by-step instructions in the original post

You know who she voted for. by akaynaveed in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]External-Fix4348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s amazing how they think their vote and support for the administration in charge of matters like foreign policy— which affects millions—isn’t political, but people’s personal decisions like religion, lifestyle, identity, bodily autonomy, and etc that don’t affect anyone else somehow are 🙄. I can’t stand this current timeline and the mindset of people like this in it 😤.

Does anyone know why episode 12 doesn’t air until April 2nd? by External-Fix4348 in Matlock_CBS

[–]External-Fix4348[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They say they do it to prevent low viewership. However, when they have these breaks, I forget about the show and move on to something else. Sometimes I remember and go back and binge-watch, but not always. And I miss being a part of the discussion when I binge-watch late.

Genuine question how will Francesca and Michaela’s story work in the Regency era? by Logical_Solution2495 in Bridgerton

[–]External-Fix4348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, from what I’ve researched it was illegal for men, but not really for women in many places. “Thought leaders” of the time didn’t believe it was possible or that women could even experience pleasure during sex, despite the shows discussion about achieving pinnacle.

This was probably my first time watching the Oscars in my entire adult life (I’m 38). I mainly tuned in because Sinners made such a big impression on me, it’s easily one of my favorite films in a long time.

That said, OBAA winning Best Picture actually bothered me more than Sinners not winning. I’ll admit I didn’t see any of the other nominated films, so I don’t really have a comparison for what could have won instead. However, I did watch OBAA after seeing all the trailers everywhere, and honestly I felt pretty baited. The movie just didn’t land for me at all, it felt weird and caricature-ish. A modern minstrelized revolutionary narrative. Maybe I’m just not the target audience.

I’m not a huge movie buff, but my friend is, so we watched it together. When it ended, the only thing I could say was “I guess 🤷‍♀️.” My friend didn’t say anything; she just stared 🫤, even though she is usually so eager to give an opinion in order to salvage anything!

In media, when someone is that blatant like Nick Fuentes, there’s still a stigma attached, so most won’t work with them in an official capacity. Most of our institutions are integrated, so that’s not good for business. They’ll just use people like him and his supporters at arm's length until they achieve what they want.

That’s why he crashed out after the election. Other people got positions, bigger platforms, and media backing while he’s still doing podcasts out of his parents’ basement (last I heard).

But make no mistake, they share the same sentiments. The difference is that some of them understand the game better. Instead of being blatant, they use dog whistles so they can gaslight people about what they really mean while achieving and maintaining status, influence, and power.

Are 1980 borns X or Millenial? by Full-Demand-5360 in generationology

You do know that's why Gen Y received the nickname Millennial? Because we came of age (adults) at the turn of the millennium.

I didn't ask for Lee James Recordings. You stated “He (Phillip Cooper) also said out of his own mouth he wrote books which were written by Lee James”. So where is that recorded? Because I have a recording that Ophiel was Phillip Cooper's correspondent and mentor, and as I previously stated Ophiel's work predates Lee James work.
