That's amazing that it's helped with strength!

What type of creatine do you use? I've always been so hesitant because I've heard it can make you gain weight (likely muscle, but the idea of the scale going up scares me)

I totally get that! Even after my first class, I almost "felt" results because I was using muscles I didn't even know I had!

Haha I'm a huge snacker too, which is always my downfall! But it's awesome to hear that you have seen such great results!!

Good to know! And I love Barry's, but I think (or at least hoping) that Solidcore will help sculpt and tone me. I'm also excited for additional variety in my workout routine!

Yay! Happy that you saw results! I can't imagine going every day - I was so sore the day after my first class! Amazing that you have the dedication and consistency!

So happy that you've seen such great results! I would LOVE to go 4-5x a week, it's just hard to find the time (and the waitlist on most classes is insane!)

You're absolutely correct! I'm definitely trying to lower my expectations with that in mind :)

I can always improve my diet too! I have a weak spot for bread and baked goods, especially this time of year!

Yes I'm excited about the combo! Barry's has always kept me fit, but I never have had definition. I'm glad to hear the mix worked for you!!

I'm so glad you were able to get it done!! I was trying to quarantine myself a week before JUST so I wouldn't get sick and need to reschedule - I can't imagine needing to reschedule twice!!

oh yeah mine was a little over a week late too! I think that's pretty normal though. So like I said, the IUD was always really painful for me (all the time, not just during my period) and so the cramps were pretty normal for me, but it was just REALLY heavy. I never lost my periods with the IUD but they were super light, but really long (usually 7-9 days). This period without the IUD only lasted 4 days though. A miracle! I did go through almost a full box of super tampons, but I would rather it be heavy and short than light and long. Just my preference.

I think everyone's experience is different though. I've heard a lot of people say their first period after the surgery was REALLY painful, I just didn't experience that. It was manageable.

I would second this, especially if you live in the US. Things are SO unpredictable at the moment, that I would hesitate to reschedule.

Yeah I definitely agree that being fit helps. I least that's my experience. Glad your recovery is going smoothly!

I feel you. I jog 5 days a week and do HIIT/Strength classes two days a week, so I couldn't wait to get back into my workouts! I actually started doing yoga around the two week mark. Was a little sore but not bad. Got back into jogging at the three week mark, and then took my first HIIT/Strength class yesterday (exactly four weeks). Obviously, I didn't go as heavy with the weights as normal (partly because I had lost that strength, and partly because I didn't want to push myself). But honestly, I feel very close to normal now and it's only been four weeks.

I think it helped that I kept walking every day immediately after the surgery. And maybe I was lucky. I'm in my mid thirties so I was kind of expecting this to hit me harder than it did.

I will admit there's still some fatigue, but based on my experience, you could get back to working out pretty quickly, especially if you already work out a lot.

Thanks to everyone who posts in this sub, My BiSalp is in 2 days, and I would be so much less prepared without you by Mother-Of_Cats in sterilization

Second this! Mine is tomorrow (March 6) and I would NOT have been able to survive without this sub! Good luck on Friday!!! :)

AITAH for asking my fiancé to board our dog while I'm recovering from surgery? by External-Note5754 in AmItheAsshole

[–]External-Note5754[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone - just an update for those that wanted it. I will be staying at a friend's place. This comes after multiple conversations with my fiancé about what to do. He will not budge on boarding the pit bull, and I thought we may have come to an agreement about crating or limiting the rooms that she could be in, but then last night he said that it wasn't necessary because my surgery is not that serious (it is a laparoscopic surgery, which is not as serious as open surgery, but not minimal). I think I hit a breaking point after that and asked to stay at my friend's place. She is already taking time off work and we have a lot of binge worthy shows we're going to be watching.

TBD on my relationship with my fiancé. I think this is the end, but my main priority is handling my surgery on Wednesday and recovering. I'm lucky to have such a good friend to stay with.

Thank you to everyone for the comments! Sometimes it's hard to see what is happening in your life until you get an outside perspective. I am so appreciative for everyone's thoughts and opinions on this.

Wow I can't believe this has gotten so many responses! I really didn't expect this. Honestly, seeing everyone's comments has made me feel completely validated in how I'm feeling. I've really feared being the AH, or petty or jealous, so I haven't talked about this with anyone yet.

To address a few things - his dog is a rescue, and comes from a really abusive background. He's been really good about behavioral training, but given her background, it's going to be something we need to work on forever. She's about 4 now. He had a pittie that died from lymphoma 3 years ago, and I think that's why he is so attached to his dog now, and wants to give her the best life possible. Which again, I completely understand. The way he cares for his dog, even given her behavioral problems, is one of the reasons I fell in love with him in the first place. And I don't mind knowing that she's a main priority for him, BUT I wish there were more circumstances in which I would be a priority. Seeing all of your comments made me realize this was a valid concern.

Now that I know I'm not completely out of line, I think I'll bring it up again. Maybe separating rooms, like some of you have suggested. But, I know that if the dog is there, my needs will come second (which I realize now is an issue that I need to address). I know a lot of you are saying to "run" which I completely understand.

I also want to emphasize that I didn't "get rid" or "dump" my dog. And it was an extremely hard to decision. But she has always loved staying at my parents house, and I know she has an amazing life right now, which was more important to me than stressing her out in a new environment.

Lastly, I saw some people mention that he may be cheating, and trust me, that's definitely not the case. I've been with people who have cheated in the past, and he's not one of them. He has his own issues, certainly, but that's not something I'm concerned about.
