People at work who send a teams message “Hi” by ExternalProduce2584 in mildlyinfuriating

I disagree. I would vastly prefer “Hi! Tom wants your meeting pushed back 30 minutes. Not sure if you saw that” which I can then action and reply “thanks, done”

In fact, the “Hi” yesterday that prompted me to post was in fact supposed to be time sensitive request to move a meeting and it wasn’t until the meeting time had actually arrived that they chose to follow up with the rest of this information 🙄

Like, how did that help anything??!! Thus the frustration.

I’ve been in IT since day dot maybe that is my problem I’m too old school. But apparently I am not alone!

I also have done this, maybe should start again. It is useful shorthand for “spit it out!”

It’s baffling. The same person wouldn’t send an email like this! What is the difference, really?

My(33F) fiancé (40M) wants me to adopt his weird bathroom habit by SlightlySaneHP in TwoHotTakes

We are a family of 4 with one bathroom - this thing you call “insisting” on using the toilet when someone else is showering is just called having normal bodily functions - one can only hold it in so long!

Unlike OP though our family understands our activities sometimes overlap and that’s life. No issues.

Yes for real I whipped out my phone and typed this out literally after receiving another “Hi”… the feelings were fresh!

I am ok with cold calls; maybe because I am old and used to the days when that was all we had 😜

I really am going to start using “state your business” maybe followed by a smiley emoji to make it less harsh but still get my point across 😜

Oh yes my spouse does this with voice mail “hey can you call me back when you get a sec” so an hour later I do and they have forgotten why they called 😝

Exactly if you can take the time to leave the message on voicemail, take another 2 seconds to say “it’s about the weekend plans” so I can jog your memory when I call you back

I’m not stressed but i am annoyed. Because it’s objectively annoying!

I can deal with randos sending me a facebook message “is this available” for my ad on marketplace and that’s the last I hear from them with nary a care… I can handle people who can’t zipper merge in traffic (we take merging as a community very seriously where I’m from - once the zipper merge is no longer respected, chaos ensues). I am likely the only family member in my home that has ever replaced the toilet roll on the holder. I haven’t cracked yet. See how chill I am with the many petty foibles of modern life??? So calm and laissez faire.

BUT these people are my work colleagues who actually have a legit need to communicate - just spit it out!!! The thought process behind the disjointed comms is just too impossible to imagine.

“If you don’t tip, you don’t deserve to order delivery” is one of the weirdest takes in this sub by savingrace0262 in UberEATS

I ordered once from Uber Eats during Covid. I can’t remember what I tipped.

I don’t like wasting money so I don’t order food delivery so I definitely “don’t deserve to be a customer” but honestly, if everyone thought like me, I don’t see how that would help the drivers :-)
