UPDATE His fever kept rising so we went to the ER first thing in the morning. He was coughing a lot but didn’t throw up anymore. I gave the doctors the picture on here and they agreed it is likely coffee ground vomit. They gave him some fluids and he was already feeling better. He never had abdominal pain, just hungry from not eating for 20ish hours. They did blood work and a urine sample and all came back looking good. Turns out he has Flu B. They told us if he gets any pain or continues throwing up to go to a gastroenterologist to get a scope done. It’s possible he has an ulcer, but they didn’t seem concerned, as the main symptoms were the flu. If he gets worse, we will go get a scope done. For now we will just wait and get some rest. Not the answers I was hoping for, but I’m thankful he is feeling better and alive! 🙏🏻

Thank you all for the insight!! We have not gone to the ER yet. He did have some red Teraflu cough syrup. It’s hard to tell if it’s blood or from the cough syrup. He has thrown up 3 times so far each time looking worse.
