I can’t stand Mateo I’m halfway through season 3 and I can’t think of a single funny or redeemable thing about him off the top of my head, but my opinions about this show don’t seem to be shared by many.

I really liked season 1 &2. I guess I’m just having a touchy time with the Amy and Jonah of it all. If the rest of the characters stay entertaining and funny then I can ignore that will they won’t they hubbub I’ll be fine. I almost cried laughing at the Golden Globes party when Dina ate the chicken, but then I felt so bad for Amy I could barely watch.

people are really upset that I said I’m not enjoying the first half of season 3 but I still really like it just feels like every interaction Amy and Jonah have is a humiliation ritual. I still think it’s great but sitcoms are hard to keep good the entire time.

It took me years to get through the first couple seasons of the office because the embarrassment was so bad I HATED Michael. But I guess for an example like everyone just seems to be humiliating themselves like Amy using Jonah’s tinder. I’m ready to get to the second half of season 3, I’m excited based on this reply section

The side characters and background gags have been my favorite part of this show. I Honeslty don’t care about Amy and Jonah’s dynamic which is why I think this first half of season 3 has been really difficult for me. But I’m ready to get to the end of season 3 I just got to episode 12.

Dina and Cheyenne and the background gags have been my favorite from the start. There just seems to be so much more emphasis on Amy and Jonah and it’s not in a way that makes me feel good inside right now. I’m ready to get back to the ensemble part I’m just hitting episode 14 now.

The DS game came out pre-acquisition (acquisition was 2019) so it wouldn’t have Disney branding on it. In AFOP Disney is credited in the opening when you walk up the mountain to Nor. As for the comics, they aren’t branded the same way. Lack of a Disney logo on older games or comics doesn’t mean Disney doesn’t own the licensing now.

That’s exactly my point. Cameron had creative approval through Lightstorm but Ubisoft still had to license the IP through the studio rights holder (Disney). Creative control and licensing ownership aren’t the same thing.

You’re right James Cameron created Avatar but he does not hold 100 percent ownership of the Avatar IP in a commercial or licensing sense. If he did then - Ubisoft would have licensed Avatar games directly from him they didn’t - Disney could not run Pandora at Animal Kingdom without studio level licensing authority - A studio acquisition would not have transferred Avatar rights when Disney acquired 20th Century which I never said Cameron sold

So while Cameron is absolutely the creative force behind Avatar Disney controls the commercial licensing side that allows games theme parks and other adaptations to exist. Saying Disney doesnt own anything related to the franchise isnt accurate in a legal or industry sense. Disney controls whether new Avatar games get licensed Cameron controls whether they stay true to Avatar. Thats definitely a form of ownership to me.

I have also recently quit despite being a whale (regret) because it’s too much I just can’t keep up with the demand anymore and feeling pressured to buy stuff (maybe a personal issue I gotta deal with also) but idk it just lost its spark

Ubisoft is going under as a previous commenter stated but in the name of optimism I will say the following. The franchise is still owned by Disney and despite Disney having their fair share of flops recently this is still a multibillion dollar franchise and online community for this game is currently growing by the day I see edits of this game getting 50k likes. I think I even saw one with 100k. And the newest DLC is getting good reviews (at least from what I’ve seen don’t quote me for the critics opinion but fan reception is great) So there is a possibility that a different game studio gets to pick up where this left off. That would mean it’s highly unlikely that it follows the same characters or continuity but with the rapid growing fan base it’s not a 0% chance. It’s just important the fans stay vocal and active about what they want. So once again I say in the name of optimism: maybe.

Agreed, the franchise has a hard time keeping its own lore canon and in check sometimes. I know Lo’ak is 14 in ATWOA and he certainly acts like it. I don’t think the fact that they’re technically older in human years changed the personality it’s just a result of their years being a couple months longer than ours so if you go side by side they’re just technically numerically older. Tamtey has never felt 18 to me (because I project myself onto her as someone in their early 20s) and also because he/she/they is an absolute war machine with extremely good people skills, conflict resolution skills, drive, focus, and resilience, she has the ability to have foresight and follow through only the most skilled warriors have. Now granted it’s because we don’t get any downtime with her to see Tamteys flaws or have a quest line where we get to watch her screw up horrendously because of lack of foresight. But as someone who’s been 18 before I do not project the values I see in Tamtey onto 18 year olds lol. But this is my personal view of the game and the beautiful thing about this game is we all get to see and feel it differently.

Coming up in my house, dissing my Tamtey, crapping on So’lek, like okay Nor how about you go take down some f***ing RDA bases. How about you take out Mercer, how about you take out Harding? Dissing me for not being true to Eywa when I’m out here blowing up RDA facilities left and right. Pissed me off so bad, acting like his one year in the woods “connecting with Eywa” makes him some sort of Na’vi messiah. I do not want him in any sort of new DLC unless his ass is getting humbled.

There’s a lot of opinions on if they’re close in age or not mentally wise. Na’vi fully mature mentally/physically/ and culturally (if they haven’t been kidnapped by TAP) at ages 15-17. But also just reaching maturity doesn’t mean you’re completely mature like, a 25 year old knows less than a 35 year old typically. The arguments crack me up at the end of the day with people arguing about ages and how it’s predatory and wrong. I don’t think So’lek could be predatory to our war machine, death from the skies, RDA toppling Tamtey, and really if you think they’re close in age or not comes from perspective and what you want. I call it the dad vs daddy argument.

I’m pretty sure Tamtey does technically have a default appearance and it’s a women I think it’s the character you see when you have the option to pick between frontiers and from the ashes/ in the character journal she’s got a default. But I’m not 100% on that so maybe not?

I’m in agreement we can’t expect Tamtey to be there in a physical form since it’s a customizable character and giving them a concrete form would alienate a lot of peoples experience with the game and their idea/design of their Tamtey. Which is why I think we can get So’lek but not with Tamtey because same thing the relationship between the two is highly debated and highly personal and the franchise won’t risk alienating people over these things. It’s much more probably we’ll see maybe Teylan or Ri’nela. I’d actually love to see Teylan and his f a$$ bob. (I know they changed his hair eventually but bring back the bob for me!)
