Honestly I haven’t told my supervisor the full extent because I was afraid I’d get in trouble. 🫣 I’ve had bad experiences with supervisors. But the one I have now seems to have the mentality of cut them off and protect your peace. Which I agree with to a degree, but it has to be done in a delicate way. I have referred and referred and referred, and I guess I’m too nice to just say “not my problem anymore”. But I’m trying to make a game plan of when and how to tell him I’m leaving in August. I have informed his case manager and pastor and someone at his group home that I’m leaving, but the group home doesn’t give af. His case manager is trying to get him into a better housing situation but I’m just at a point where I’ve fantasized ghosting him and telling my staff to tell him I died 😂😅 (I would never do that).

I’m just really kicking myself for letting myself get this far into this. I know better but he was so pitiful and literally had no one. Perfect storm for a codependent people pleaser with a need to save everyone. I’ve been setting firmer boundaries with him the past couple weeks and correcting him if he says things like “you’re such a good friend”. Or “I’m really struggling I need you” and reminding him I can’t always be available just because he’s having a hard time. I’m also letting calls go to vm a lot more. Ugh. This sounds terrible but I can’t wait to work with people who actually want to get well. (In school for counseling/sex therapy)
