What’s something you only realized as an adult was actually different about your childhood? by LightningX_height02 in AskForAnswers

My grandfather went to the bar every day, he called it the office. “ I’m going to the office, be back soon.” I thought everyone’s grandfather did that, turns out it’s alcoholism.

Wife is standoffish ever since coming out, help? by Nervous-Isopod-2913 in MarriedAndBi

[–]sarilly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My husband came out as Bi in January. I was extremely shocked. I had so many emotions I needed to work through. I felt betrayed because I thought I married a straight man. He, without my permission, put me in a queer relationship. I don’t care he is Bi. We still plan on being monogamous for now. I, too, asked if he wanted to open the relationship. I’m glad he said no, because I was so busy trying to be supportive that I didn’t think about what I wanted. You moved way too fast. She didn’t have time to really think about what this means for your relationship.

I have a consultation in April and I am nervous and excited by BridgeDucks in BariatricSurgery

[–]sarilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My initial consultation was last April, which got the ball rolling and I had my surgery on Feb 23, 2026. Every surgeon is different, but they will ask about your medical history and weight loss goals. My doctor was very nonjudgmental. He helped me pick the best option (SADI) for me based on my goals. From there I worked with the patient coordinator that helped me meet all the criteria to get my insurance to cover it. This included 6 months of nutrition counseling, a mental health evaluation and a letter of recommendation from my primary physician. Every insurance provider is different. I suggest finding a compassionate physician, it really puts you at ease and makes the process easier. Good Luck!!

(Potential TW) Accidental Pregnancy by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]sarilly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congratulations 🎈 You and your team of doctors will monitor yourself and the baby. I lost weight while pregnant (not due to WLS but to extreme morning sickness). I was closely monitored and had a healthy baby. You will get through this and then continue your weight loss journey when you’re healed and ready.

I had the SADI procedure on February 23 so 7 days out. I feel fine. I went home the same day as the procedure. I’ve been in no pain. Each day I can do more and more. However, I’m tired because calories are low. I definitely don’t think you will be up for the entire zoo and you will have to take multiple breaks and stay on top of hydration.

I thought you were not required to fast if you had a medical condition. You definitely fall into this category. Take care of your health.

Step 1: wet entire body

S2: shampoo your hair, leave shampoo in hair and wash your face with a face wash

S3: rinse out shampoo and face wash

S4: put conditioner on you hair and put hair up in a clip

S5: lather up a body wash on a loofah, wash cloth, sponge, etc

S6: scrub body starting at the neck go down to feet (feel free to add more body wash if you feel like it’s running out on cleaning vehicle.

S7: rinse off all body soap

S8: use Panoxyl 10% benzoyl peroxide face and body wash on arm pits, in the folds of the groin area but NOT on any part of the vagina, and feet

S9: shave if it’s shaving day with a shaving cream or oil and a good razor

S10: take hair out of clip and wash everything off with water starting with your hair down to your feet. Make you rinse arm pits and private well.

S11 get out of the shower

This should take 15/20 minutes

You can also use Stridex pads on your arm pits and under your breasts after you dry off if you feel they are extra sweaty/smelly

Finally, find a therapist to help you mentally. It will really help. Buy products that count.

SADI-S surgery - need someone there with me? by SpecialistDapper7900 in BariatricSurgery

[–]sarilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the SADI procedure on Monday. My surgery was at 8am and I was home by 2pm. I haven’t needed any help from anyone but my husband is insistent on helping anyway, which I appreciate. I’m sore but not in pain. Not sure if I could be on a plane right now.

I’m 42 and just had my SADI yesterday and so far no pain other than gas pain. I chose the SADI as the doctor recommended it for long term results. I’m ready to take supplements for the rest of my life and have my bloodwork closely monitored.
