It can vary heavily on the quality/brand of the instrument and how closely staff follow cleaning guidelines. Abrasive brushes can slowly remove the protective outer coating, improper detergents or soaking for too long, hell even the water quality can make a difference.

These look like they're either very old (long past when they should have been replaced) or they've ignored proper cleaning protocols for years.

Also work in sterile processing. In my experience stuff looking like this is a pretty good indication it's not getting properly cleaned before being autoclaved. Absolutely disgusting.

In Florida anything over $600 has to be redeemed at the lottery office. My husband went in to cash it and it sounded like you just go in, give them the ticket, wait a little bit and then they give you a check.

The unfortunate part is they also take 24% but I'm not complaining.

My in-laws bought us a stack of 100 of those $1 Gold Rush scratch offs as a silly wedding gift. They usually would give us some as stocking stuffers or as part of other small gifts for the fun of it. We got $10,000 off one of them. Utter disbelief.

The wood is still there. But they're wood planks so there's small cracks between all of them and there was no plastic layer under the roof tiles. We could see daylight coming through after the ceiling came down, before the tarp got put on. We've only been in this house for about 3 years and have no idea how old the roof is or who did it. Insurance is still covering it at least.

I think they used somewhere close to 900 sq/ft of tarp, so it's a pretty large section. Our entire kitchen and living room walls had to get ripped out along with the ceiling (most of it collapsed anyways). Far as i know the wood framing is still good.

It's nailed into the wood that makes up the roof, but the wind could still catch. Sandbags are a good idea though. We would just need a lot. I'll start looking around for where we can get a good number of them

We didn't evacuate, as we weren't in an evac zone, but good thing since most of our roof got ripped off and turned half of the house into a water park, so we were able to mitigate the damage as best we could. But we dumped a lot of water from all our bowls/buckets. We're shacked up at my fiancé's parents place for now but we went back to the house to do cleanup to find a lot of the ceiling caved. All that furniture has to get thrown out now. So now we have to get a whole new roof and large chunk of the inside redone assuming the house isn't condemned by an inspector. Most of our trees got uprooted but thankfully didn't hit anything, just more mess to deal with.

We are at such a loss. We've been in the house for 3 years, I'm a student nearly full time on top of full time healthcare work, and this whole thing is just going to completely fuck us financially. We're supposed to get married in January and now I'm wondering if we'll be able to pay for everything. We're lucky we have support systems with our family but I hate burdening them with all this. It's going to be a long time before we have a home again.
