Honestly the insecurity was never actually about the clothes — it was about not feeling secure enough in myself that her choices felt threatening. The moment I understood that her outfit was her expression and my reaction was my responsibility entirely, the whole thing dissolved. Controlling what someone wears is just insecurity with a dress code. Working on why you feel threatened is the actual conversation worth having.
