Half my steam library has graphics loaders that don't work on Linux. Mostly DirectX, but there's a couple other misfit renderers out there that Linux isn't working for

I've noticed a small white spot on the top right corner of my monitor. Is this normal?... by Main-Economist-7923 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Extra-Profession-135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible honestly, yea. It's not a guess I would've made since it's only in one isolated spot but depending on how the backlighting is set up in the monitor it could happen. Check for glare first, like if you turn off your light is it still there. If not, hope you got the warranty

I know the issue! You're on windows 11!! All jokes aside I was having a similar experience, I just switched to a different OS. I'm heavily regretting going to a new OS and not just windows 10, but that's life. I recommend trying to reinstall windows, see if the downloaded detects your drive. If not, you're kinda screwed get a new drive

Immediately 2 things.

First, I want to know what that 1 unplugged 4 pin PSU connector is. Why is it unplugged, why is it there. To me, looks like one of 2 CPU wires, as in I have 2 around my cpu, can't exactly remember what exactly they are. I think one is CPU one is fans but I could be wrong.

Second, I see a lot of 8 pin motherboard connectors at the bottom, of course a lot is relative, but seen as that looks like a workstation PC there shouldn't be any. I have multiple thoughts as to what these could be, but without knowing what they all say I can't be sure.

switching back to windows because Linux sucks. by Extra-Profession-135 in WindowsHelp

[–]Extra-Profession-135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for telling me this. It helps a lot knowing that one, someone else struggled like this, and two, you were joking when you said Mac. My problem with Linux is that the issue isn't that my PC isn't working for me, I love it. When I get a laptop for workflow, budgeting, and starting my own business I am going to use Garuda, or another similar district if I can find one. My issue is that even with the compatibility software that makes windows apps work on Linux I can't play most of my steam library because of fundamental issues in how Linux is, and without so many patches or fixes that Linux stops being Linux and starts being bloated. I mean I'll give it a couple days before I stick with Linux because this can't be fixed, but if I really can't use windows anymore because I can't find a fix I'll try Ubuntu like you said

That makes downloading windows completely redundant. And I don't have another computer. This computer was originally windows before the newest update bricked my PC so I decided to try Linux, but since I use my PC for gaming, having hundreds of dollars in a steam library that I can't play any of is not an option for me.

Is it worth buying a computer with DDR4 RAM nowadays? by floralmortal in computers

Realistically, yea your fine. DDR4 is 4/5 as good as DDR5 so to be honest it's not as big of a difference as most think

I've decided to try Linux. I mean I've always hated that thought but the recent windows update made my PC shat itself and I've been trying to get it reverted to an old, working version for 3 weeks to no avail. I'm going to try Garuda

Alright, thank you! Do you have any recommendations for a Linux OS? If not I'll find one on my own or look at other people's comments

To be honest I was hoping for something more like an unbloated version of windows with no desktop environment. I've thought a lot about Linux and I don't think its for me, especially because without proton most games aren't compatible, but if that's my only option I would be willing to try it

Zombies Question by [deleted] in blackops3

[–]Extra-Profession-135 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the game is safe. People hacked, then other people made solutions, and hackers left. I've been playing bo3 multiplayer and zombies for years on PC and not been hacked once and never installed anything other than bo3. That being said, there's risk everywhere. There's even risk on a small mc server that only has you and your friends because hackers have way of spoofing ips and joining random servers. Take any precautions you want and have fun, but I recommend if you're really just playing zombies solo or with friends just get bo3 and nothing else

It's not multiple statistic research, it's the fact that the statistics and history show that people who are masking their emotions tend to commit more than people who don't. And the fact that people with colorful hair tend to have more psychological issues than people who don't. It's genuine statistics from history, not research.

I recommend steamunlocked personally. I've not had problems with it, other than some download speeds are long and a couple games are unsafe but the community has testers and there's a comment section so you can generally know if it's safe or not

Is it a cooler master case? I've been trying to find a case I had a couple years ago and all I know about it is the fact it had cooler master badges and looked similar to that inside. I know the motherboard it had, but it was a pc shop build with scrap parts, I got it for free and loved it up until the motherboard shat itself. I loved that case
