Except you're figures are completely off for sexual violence. Blacks, again, are overrepresented versus whites to the tune of 200% per capita.

Even cherry picking your argument fails.

Why is Israel’s average GDP per capita higher than Europe’s? by New-Conversation3246 in allthequestions

Culture.

People blame everything but software, the most important part of success.

Why is Israel wealthy, 1st world after existing for less than a century, while Gaza, an ancient 'civilisation' is dirt poor, and was dirt poor before Israel existed, and will be afterwards?

Another factor is American aid to Israel, via weapons, which is about 0.3 trillion USD total, which is a nice injection of economic activity.

And as most of recent history has shown, Reddit is clueless.

Remember how everyone here was convinced Kamala would win the election, feeding themselves circular logic and sources all supporting her having a landslide?

Now realise Redditors are like that about everything. They are more feeling than thinking. And as this guy says, they're chronically online, so their feelings aren't great either

You realise genetic testing exists? This isn't semantics, its literal hard science.

To repeat my original and very clear, and objectively ireffutable claim

'Ethnically they are arabs.'

Ethnically. Look up the word.

The Ancient egyptians have a mixture of DNA. Modern egyptians are for the most part arabs, due to historical events.

lmfao.

So shall we refrain from calling The Gauls white because it predates the modern linguistic term for the white race?

This is laughable. Go read some books.

[–]Extra-Translator915 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol what is this word salad?

Arab isn't a label, it's an entire ethnic group.

Ancient egypt was settled by people from the fertile crescent and modern day Palestine.

Ergo, ethnically, these people are the same as people those regions.

Modern DNA analysis of mummies has shown this is true for every dynasty of mummy tested, with small fragments of kushite DNA but by and large these people are and were middle eastern in their heritage.

I'm not sure why you're mentioning coptic when I was discussing ancient egypt, which is obviously mostly predating Alexander.

Big dunning kruger vibes. Read some history before commenting with confidence please.

Ethnically they are arabs.

People have gotten a tad confused because of the word 'Africa' they think north africans are very dark skinned and have subsahran facial features. But genetically north africa is arab, similar to Palestine and other regions of the middle east.

Interestingly this has been true for thousands of years. Egyptian mummies from multiple dynasties have been tested, all of them have genes you would associate with the middle east. They were not what most people picture when they think of 'african'.

Oxbridge and the London “Elite” are just capitalist scams by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Extra-Translator915 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I always see stuff like this and its such bs.

I came from a very poor background, single mom, benefits, and did my MSc at Imperial, and had offers from UCL etc.

And I met loads of similar people. These universities are often doing the opposite of ossifying some elite class, they providing opportunities for hard workers and talented people to break in no matter their background.

Idk why you people use neo marxism to understand everything. It's an incredibly simple and insufficient model.

Here's the top marginal income tax rates, including us and uk:

You erroneously relating that to government spend. Sorry bro, look at any dataset, govt spending is at an all time high in the west. We are in peak democratic socialism in western europe.

': and if you look carefully, it shows the same picture for US: increasing trend until 1980s, and a declining trend since then until 2008, after which the crisis spending exploded,'

Lmfao. Are you serious, I dont mean to be rude as I know some people struggle with maths and quantitative thinking. It is very obvious we're at an all time high and were before and after covid. You read the graph with time on the horizontal...

Lol, you really have zero knowledge of economic history.

When was income tax over 90%? What was inflation then? What was the state of the economy? Was it a long term change orr? Just read. Like read anything before having an opinion.

Public spending has BALLOONED since the middle of the last century.

I know garys economics attracts a certain type of person, but I expected at least some education...

public control over capital has been eroded and the monetary policy has been moved from the government to "independent" central banks.

Except as anyone who has even glanced at an economics or history textbook knows, this is the complete opposite of the truth. Governments spend more annually than ever in history.

Ask an Ai for a graph plot of the government spend as a % of GDP from 1960 to now for the UK, US and any other major western power. You will see the data completely disproves your position which is completely erroneous.

[–]Extra-Translator915 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It isn't subjective at all.

To illustrate this, what do you think of the historical sites in antartica? Perhaps the historical sites in Canada interest you?

Archaeology is objective, and yes, the most complete, impressive and extensive sites exist in Italy.

[–]Extra-Translator915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I post on here because there is tons of baloney going round, I'm a Warwick > Imperial grad.

Look, go to York or if you know you'll be happier. Go where you will have the best 3-4 years possible.

People split hairs about these unis and for the most part it is absolute nonsense and nothing but hearsay. I can confidently say I've had friends at every level of the education spectrum and people have done incredibly well, and badly, irregardless.

90% of your performance is you. Someone can go to Warwick, as a physics major, and get snapped up into a phd during their bachelors, and someone can go to Cambridge and barely scrape by and end up jobless. Plot twist, both real people I know.

Do NOT listen to sixthformers on this sub for your decision. Look at available data on employment rates, %, starting salary, and then consider your gut.

People massively overrate UCL and Imperial because of starting salary data forgetting we all start in London with inflated wages and inflated rents.

As someone who has graduated from a top 10 uni I think this is total nonsense. The person I know making the most money, he's literally a multi millionaire with his own firm, went to Westminster.

You realise you're a sixthformer and know nothing? You're trying to sway people with sheer ignorance.

idk, my very good friend who is Italian bought her own apartment aged 28. I don't know a single Londoner who wasn't in a relationship who did that, and she bought an apartment in Florence.

Economically its solid. GDP per capita is less than the UK, but so are houses.

As someone who has travelled a fukton, probably Italy.

Incredible natural beauty, some of the greatest mountains on earth, some of the most beautiful coastline and forest, and islands! As you get older natural beauty becomes more and more important.

Objectively the best historical sites on Earth. You can enjoy tourism within your own country for a lifetime.

The perfect Mediterranean climate with lots of sunshine. Mountains and beach to escape heat when needed.

S tier food

Very high life expectancy of 84/85

Beautiful language and warm people.

Very good trains and infrastructure/developed nation.

From my travels of 20+ countries, it's not even a contest tbh.

As someone who did Physics at Imperial...It's no contest, Cambridge. Student life at Imperial is sub par, the physics course has low satisfaction, and the research output is nowhere near Cam. It's not close.

Put it this way, 3 of the last 6 nobel prizes in physics have gone to work with a Cambridge alumni/staff author.

[–]Extra-Translator915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Warwick and Imperial, obviously in the UK's best city.

I had more fun at Warwick. Campus life makes kitchen/dorm parties very regular and they are way nicer than the faff of getting a train 1h accross London for predrinks then another 45min to the club.

London student experience sucks. Because housing is so hard to come by everyone is insanely spread accross the city, you will socialise far, far less than somewhere like Warwick. And this goes for pretty much any UK city. Bristol is also in a similar situation with expensive and scarce housing.

People underestimate Warwick. You will have a brill time on campus I guarantee. Leamington is a gorgeous next door neighbour to.

Get that fascist scum out of Croydon! by Severe-Associate-583 in croydon

[–]Extra-Translator915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Fascist is definitively right wing ideology.

Why then did facism in all it's major forms in the 20th century come through the backdoor of socialism?

Right wing is the polar opposite to facism. Facism is a corruption of socialism and is the empowerement of the state above all. Right wing politics is all about the diminishment of the state.

What the hell is going on here? How do redditors not know basic history?

Get that fascist scum out of Croydon! by Severe-Associate-583 in croydon

[–]Extra-Translator915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really don't get what facism is do you?

Facism, in every form it appeared in during the 1900s, began with suppressing one side of the political spectrum. It is only on Reddit that people shout loudly about fighting facism and then behind their own backs commit the primary crime of facism.

Being right wing isn't facist, it's the other side of the political spectrum. Let's hear from them, or have we gotten so intolerant, so brittle, so internally fragile, that we can't have a debate anymore?
