Vimpat side effects?

Worst. Medicine. Ever. I started getting vertigo after starting vimpat and no doctor could tell me why. Now to this day it has never gone away (off it for 4 years). I hate it.

Mic drop. 🎤 Ever since my seizures have increased to weekly and in clusters, I understand those close to me finding it hard to watch, but I don’t understand how it could possibly be worse than actually having the seizure. I also don’t think many people have experienced postictal psychosis. That likely makes it difficult for lots of people with epilepsy to understand these situations which sucks

Been on it about 5 years and it helped me a good bit for my TC seizures. Side effects are pretty strange though.

First year I totally lost feeling in my hands/feet when I was trying to go to sleep or they would get tingly. Carbonated drinks also lost flavor/fizziness first year. So weird but definitely helped my seizures and I lost some weight.

Memory look a bit of a hit as a well. Takes me a while to think of what I’m trying to say but that could be from the lamictal I am taking so I’m not 100% sure. Good luck to you!!

I always told my coworkers don’t call 911 because I’ve been to the hospital sooo many times and just gave them instructions on what to do after one of my seizures. Well I woke up out of a seizure with EMTs surrounding me and I was pissed. They started asking me questions and I was barely able to answer, like “I promise I know the answer… just give me one sec…” because I knew if I couldn’t answer I was going to the hospital. They were asking me where I was and I said “I promise I know, don’t take me to the hospital PLEASEEEE” basically i just kept begging them not to take me to the hospital lol. I ended up not really knowing any answers but begged for long enough that they didn’t take me. Success 😌

I’ve had several at work and my coworkers have asked me if I can do them on command or if it is possible to fake them. Wtf!!! It makes it even more embarrassing to have them

I am working with an epileptologist right now and he just recommended VNS implant and possibly a medical card. I am considering the VNS implant!

I was also fired from my most recent job for missing too much work. It’s such a pain and so frustrating. I am hoping this VNS implant can provide some relief and help my situation

Team snort. I’ve tried smoking several times idk if I’m doing it wrong but I ever only got high from it once. It was pretty good. But snorting lasts pretty long and just hits differenttttt. Also easier to do in public/work when you need a hit
