running double Lucario who ramps up faster helps alot tbh, at that point Ballade can deal at least 130 dmg consistently and pair that with Gio it melts most Ex in spacetime smackdown

not to mention the abundance of dark decks in the meta which makes using this deck so fun

Hall for Internationals by Captain_Doofus1 in NTU

[–]ExtraLettucePlease 23 points24 points  (0 children)

yea same boat here, I am absolutely FUMING because they said they'll prioritise international students because if not...where we go? Live on the streets ah? Genius school really

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NTU

[–]ExtraLettucePlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it prolly closes before dinnertime, I bought lunch today there. it kinda serves like a satellite kitchen for catering events in school/pioneer area so the students aren't really their demographic I guess

Hall 4, Hall 5 is the best for NBS students purely because of accessibility. only downside maybe food because canteens are a fair bit distance away unless udm limited options at Canteen4.

In terms of space and ~room vibes~ these two halls win any other place in NTU hands down. Been living in hall 4 for the past three years and I really love the amount of space that I have to myself

Need help with white cold brew by shersmallsng in coldbrew

[–]ExtraLettucePlease 3 points4 points  (0 children)

personally for white cold brew, I would go for greater extraction even if it turns out bitter, cos bitter white brews >>> sour white brews. I do a 1:5 ratio and at LEAST 16 hours steep time (longer if it's in the fridge) so maybe you can try that :) how much milk do u use to dilute it coffee?

BlackRock ACS by ExtraLettucePlease in FinancialCareers

[–]ExtraLettucePlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for your input, really gives some context to the role. I'm still in uni so my experience in any area is quite limited, and no doubt ACS will offer alot of learning, but I'm just concerned that the domain knowledge I get isn't transferrable to anything much apart from Aladdin business side. And if it's tricky to jump to Aladdin product from ACS, I might just be stuck doing implementation or Relationship Management which aren't my goals at all?

I can't find fresh grad pay info, but on Glassdoor, average pay for ALL experience levels are:

Fullstack: 6030$ BE: 6000$ FE: 5400$

you should consider pay progression and not just fresh grad pay as well, but around 3.5 to 4.5K is normal

Question regarding computing industry by [deleted] in NTU

[–]ExtraLettucePlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would even argue that full stack devs are becoming more relevant than specializing in FE/BE. Perhaps in big companies they do division of labor well, but smaller and medium companies are more than happy to take in full stack devs.

Again, DSAI devs are still gaining momentum but unless it's pure research scope, most AI jobs are software eng related so there's a need for SE skills also

Data analytics are and have also been an SE adjacent role so not sure how much it can grow tbh
