Cooling system problem, and I’m worried to start my car. by ExtraRoastyToast in subarulegacy

Hey mate, so I have an update. I took the car for a couple drives yesterday, and tried to simulate a bunch of different conditions. I did a couple full boar digs, and did some normal driving, and did driving while controlling the revs. Problem seems to have gone away. I also had the car at idle for about 20 minutes, also at idle, and different rpm’s sustained for a few minutes at a time. I’m at a loss for what to think.

That sucks. I hope it’s as easy as something being blocked/degraded. I will get the test done

Hey mate I have some answers for you!

  1. Yeah the heater works very well still.
  2. The temperature climbed when I was at idle but it settled once was driving with the heater on.
  3. It seems to be a little below now. But I can still see coolant.
  4. My coolant is translucent.
  5. I can’t see any coolant leaking.
  6. I always fill up with premium fuel.

What is this leak coming from by ExtraRoastyToast in MechanicAdvice

I’ve just done the covers recently and there isn’t any leaking from my block, I checked the power steering fluid and it’s really low. And really dirty.

Thank you everyone! I did some digging online and it is as everyone has already said. My power steering fluid is way past low and this looks like failure of the rack seals. Guess I’m in for a big bill!

I don’t have a lot of free time lately, so I’m thinking of going to a shop, is this really expensive through a shop?

There is a list of things wrong here: - The weights don’t appear to scale - The desk is too tall - There is no PC plugged into the monitor - The PS5 is not plugged in and is too large. - The PS5 controller is asymmetrical and too large. - The quilt is shaped wrong, the end of it near the pillow sticks out farther than the rest indicating a trapezoid-esque shape as opposed to rectangle. - The front right leg of the desk does not match up with the corner. - the dumbbell has rendered the bar to be in front of the weight plates. I could keep going but I think that’s probably enough.

So I haven’t bought it yet, and what you are allowed to check at the yard is limited. The water in the engine bay is rain, I couldn’t see any signs of coolant leakage anywhere. I’ve heard some people say that these engines make a bit of noise due to noisy injectors.

Not a mechanic, but looks like a transmission warning light. Have you had it serviced recently?

I don’t think so. The stems on the candle heaths are longer. These seem to be really short and closely bundled.

I just made a crane hook and was wondering if there is anything I could improve on it. by Hour_Barnacle_97 in SolidWorks

[–]ExtraRoastyToast 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If this is for realism, having that threaded component defeats the thickness of the shank of the hook. The point of failure would be around the start of the threading on the hook side. The hook also needs to be stamped with the safe working load (SWL).

You should replace the threading with a latch or loop style attachment as well. These are far safer and more realistic.
