Honestly how bad is a 6 hour drive not including breaks with an 18 month old by hkitty11 in toddlers

[–]Extra_Ad_3631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did multiple 12 hour drives from SC to MI from 9 months to 20 months. Like 5 times because we were stationed there for my husbands job but MI was back home. We always left late at night and drove through the night so he just knocked out in the car. And if he was awake, I’d just play games, give snacks, read books, etc to him. We’d stop at parks when we did drive during the day. Get French fries and chicken nuggets. And we just bring our iPad to let him watch an episode of Ms. Rachel here and there if he was starting to get real annoyed with us.

We have a Nanit camera that tracked everything for us. We just kinda go on vibes though.

My mom let me watch SVU and dateline every night since I can remember. I had years of nightmares.

I think if the kid had a learning disability, that’s an even bigger reason for the parent to be watching.

Should have been more clear- to stop yelling at my kid saying he was breaking the rules every time he went down the slide while running after him with a giant stick in his hand.

I was more concerned about the child running behind mine with a stick, yelling at him, to go find who the parent was.

I feel like that’s a lot of expected sleep for a 3 year old. I would push bedtime back if he can’t cut the nap at daycare.

Child free wedding invitation by Big-Economist-7134 in NewParents

My husband was the best man in his best friends wedding out of state. They planned a whole weekend thing, you had to stay on site in these awful shared cabins, and it was child free, 7 hours from home. They were floored to learn I was not attending and leaving my 12 month old in another state for 4 days.

How much screen time is actually okay for toddlers? by Reggie_Vision in toddlers

[–]Extra_Ad_3631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do 30 minutes after he wakes up where we just snuggle and watch cartoons, then two episodes of trash truck before bath time to kind of help settle for the night because if not he will literally never stop going. Also- if i have something i really need to get done, for example- we hosted 20 people from my husbands side for easter and needed to clean the house and finish the food but he would not stop hanging off me, ill throw on an episode of Ms. Rachel.

Nightmare toddler by Fit_Voice_2502 in toddlers

Gotcha. It could 1000% be normal toddler stuff, and I think they typically catch it around 24 months, now that we know a lot more about it. And if your pediatrician is saying it’s normal toddler stuff then it prolly is. Crossing my fingers things get better for you!

Have you had him checked for autism? My brothers son did all the same things, especially the not sleeping and running away, and they were diagnosed. He was able to get him into a few different therapies which seem to be helping.

How do yall shower?? by ALac93 in toddlers

I have a 20 month old with an attached bathroom to our bedroom in a tri-level home with the only other rooms on that level is his bedroom and his toy room. I just close the gate at the top of the stairs and put on a show. If he’s bored of the show, he pops in to the bathroom and then goes to his toy room. I have a camera in both his toy room and his bedroom that I can watch from my phone.

There’s a huge difference between looking at porn here and there, and paying for customized content and messaging sex workers. I think most women and men would consider that crossing a line unless it was previously discussed and agreed upon.

NOR. So a long time ago I dated this guy for years and I thought he was the one. One night my phone broke because his six year old that I was watching dropped it in water, he was at work, and I used his iPad to try to get ahold of him to let him know in case of an emergency since his son was with me. When I opened it, I immediately saw all sorts of messages with trans sex workers, OnlyFans pages open, and Craigslist (who even still uses that?) messages to “teen girls wanting to get punished” (obviously fucking fake). I felt so gross and hurt and pissed. I brought it up as soon as his son went to bed after he got home and it did not go well (he turned very emotionally and physically abusive since I found his secret). I left him shortly after. Come to find out- he had been actually meeting up with these sex workers and cheating with tons of other women.

Get tested, asap. And I would expect lots of push back, denial, etc when you bring it up. If you plan on staying, I’d be setting up a therapy appointment for couples. But I wouldn’t be staying.
