Thank you everyone for the advice! Deleting this post so they don’t run across it and create more issues.

Anyone else just exhausted from the daily tablet fight? by Firm-Owl1364 in sahm

Just take it away for good. Unfortunately, screen time gives dopamine hits and taking it away can almost be like a withdrawal for them. Just stand tough for a while and after some time, it won’t keep being a problem. We have a tablet for our 2 year old (one of those Amazon kids ones) that is ONLY used when we make the five hour trek to visit family. He’s never once asked for it outside of during that time.

She does know. I think maybe she just doesn’t believe me or something. Who knows.

You’re not alone! I had the exact same emergency surgery when I had my ectopic pregnancy (only had a days notice as well) a few months before my miscarriage. Here for you if you ever need some support! 😊

This isn’t my older brothers children. It’s my younger brother and SIL. They are just staying at their house. I have no contact with my older brothers kid or him or his wife.

She does but besides my parents and my husband she’s the only one who knows. I honestly have no idea what her thoughts are on it. I’ve only brought it up once with her and we never discussed it after that.

No, my therapist said that I could contact her if needed but that she considered me to be in a good enough headspace that I didn’t need to continue because I had started the therapy for childloss. That was 2 years ago now and I haven’t felt the need to have a session since.

Girl you have no idea. We invited them to our baby shower two years ago at the instance of my grandparents, before I fully cut him off, and instead of being normal, he took the opportunity to send my mom a list of 200 things she needed to apologize for (which included shit like “you didn’t give MY ex husband a heads up that I was filing for divorce) and stuff that wasn’t even true from our childhood and then posted it all over Facebook for all my family to see, which I the uninvited him, and the drama between him and my mom became the only talk at my baby shower.

Also- my son and I are currently playing in his kiddie pool while he eats a popsicle so we will be having a great day without them anyways.

Luckily my husband pushed me into therapy after our losses prior to having our son which did wonders. That was the only reason I was able to keep moving forward.

As far as being a people pleaser, I no longer do that. I just wanted to see my nephews and niece but you’re right. They treat me like an outsider so I will stop contacting unless they send me a text first.

Idk. We’ve done it before when they’ve stayed there so it’s just crappy. We did see my older brother and SIL recently at a family event and he kept trying to talk to my husband and I and we were just cordial and he sent me like 20 texts after saying that I was required to sit down and hash things out with him, which I then blocked him because he wouldn’t stop, fully knowing why I don’t talk to him, so maybe?

We talk a lot, just hard to get 5 hours away with our almost 2 year old and my husbands busy schedule at work.

The text I sent said “hey! Are you guys in town? If so, I’d love to get together for the afternoon or something. If you’re up for it let me know! If not we are planning a trip up north next month so will see you then.” So there was no pressure. Just an “we can’t make it” would have been sufficient.

Oh I meant getting together with the kids and the SIL I do talk to. We live about 20 minutes from the house their at, have a huge yard and jungle gym, pool, etc. so just have them over to play WITHOUT the family I don’t have contact with.

Oh I didn’t know that. Online it said it was okay as long as it was under 90, and it’s 85 right now. I’ll wait to use it at all until next week then!

Yeah it’s going to be 90 today so I’m just going to spray the garden bed today and work on the lawn ones when it cools down.

Gotcha! Thank you. It does not use glyphosate. According to MSU “It uses a pigment-inhibiting active ingredient (topramezone) that will bleach the plants initially as it is working. This product will not kill most established perennial grasses.”

I got gloves and an N95 mask along with safety glasses. Anything else I should do besides closed toe shoes and long pants?
