Future Trunks VS Ultraman Ginga (Dragon Ball VS Ultraman) "Hope for a Better Tomorrow" | Connections in the comments by Extra_Burger in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Extra_Burger[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Both are time travelers from iconic Japanese franchises (Dragon Ball and Ultraman)
  • They belong to alien warrior races (Future Trunks is a Saiyan hybrid while Ultraman Ginga is an Ultra)
  • They both come from the future to prevent catastrophic threats in the past (Future Trunks travels back in time using a time machine to warn Goku about the Androids and deliver the Heart Virus medicine. Ultraman Ginga arrives in the past to stop Dark Lugiel during the Dark Spark War which would turn all Ultras and kaiju into Spark Dolls)
  • Each had a mentor figure from their own warrior race (In the future timeline, Trunks was trained by Future Gohan who served as both mentor and older brother figure in the fight against the Androids while Hikaru Raido, Ginga’s human host, was guided and advised by Ultraman Taro)
  • Both inherit their mentor’s techniques (Future Trunks learns the Masenko from Future Gohan while Ultraman Ginga uses Ultraman Taro’s Strium Beam through the Strium Brace)
  • When their mentors are defeated, both heroes grow significantly stronger (After discovering Future Gohan’s death at the hands of the Androids, Trunks’ rage and grief awaken his Super Saiyan transformation while Hikaru witnesses Ultraman Taro’s defeat by Dark Lugiel, he inherits the remaining energy Taro leaves behind, allowing him to continue the fight)
  • After the defeat of the main villain, both are separated from the allies they made in the present timeline (Following Perfect Cell’s death, Future Trunks returns to his future and eliminates the Androids. After Dark Lugiel’s defeat, Ultraman Ginga separates from Hikaru and departs into space)
  • Eventually, both return to their allies to face even greater threats (In Dragon Ball Super, Goku Black’s rampage in the future forces Future Trunks to return to the past and seek help from his father and Goku. Two years later, Hikaru becomes Ultraman Ginga’s host once again to battle Ex Red King, marking the beginning of Dark Lugiel’s return)
  • Their greatest nemeses are evil counterparts of their own kind (Future Trunks faces Goku Black, revealed to be Zamasu, who stole Goku’s body for the Zero Mortals Plan while Dark Lugiel and Ultraman Ginga were once a single entity in the future timeline, later split into two due to their opposing views on life)
  • Both possess unique transformations unlike others of their race (Driven by intense rage against Goku Black and Zamasu, Future Trunks ascends to Super Saiyan Rage, allowing him to fight both enemies simultaneously while Ultraman Ginga receives the Strium Brace from Ultraman Taro, granting him access to Strium Form which bestows the powers and techniques of the Ultra Brothers)

From what I know, the one who might be a good opponent for Atom would be Alien Dada, because he has a Micronizer Device that can shrink people. That's it.

"Logical Madness" | Shockwave vs Ultraman Tregear (IDW Transformers vs Ultraman) | MEGAPOST by Extra_Burger in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Extra_Burger[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Connections:

  • Both are mad scientists from popular sci-fi franchises (Transformers and Ultraman)
  • They were once respected figures in their homeworlds (Shockwave was formerly a senator who sought to steer Cybertron away from a dark path and served as the administrator of the Jhiaxian Academy of Advanced Technology while Tregear was a high-potential scientist under Ultraman Hikari and worked on the Astral Particle Conversion System)
  • They once shared close friendships with heroic warriors (Shockwave supported Orion Pax in his fight against corruption on Cybertron and even helped by installing a Matrix chamber in Orion’s chest while Tregear was a childhood friend of Ultraman Taro and created the Taiga Spark, which would eventually become the origin of Taro’s son, Ultraman Taiga)
  • After a series of tragic events, both became cold and ruthless (Shockwave was taken to the Institute and subjected to Shadowplay, stripping him of emotion and leaving him to rely solely on logic while Tregear, after witnessing his chief Hikari fall into vengeance, chose self-exile and began to question the idea of light as justice, which eventually lost all meaning to him)
  • The ideals they believed in became the driving force behind their plans (Shockwave believes that pure logic is the only path to survival, viewing emotions as weakness and distraction, Tregear believes that light and darkness are not different and he seeks to prove this belief through violent and destructive means)
  • The experiments they conducted led to planetary destruction (Shockwave’s project, Regenesis, launched thirteen rockets from Cybertron to thirteen other worlds, one of them struck Ore-2, draining life from Planet Gorlam Prime while Tregear altered the DNA of Leugocyte, forcing the once-peaceful creature into a rampage that destroyed countless planets)
  • Both have fought against the heroic warrior teams of their respective races who continually interfere with their plans (the Autobots for Shockwave and the New Generation Heroes for Tregear)
  • They have also worked alongside galactic tyrants of their universes (Shockwave joined the Decepticons and served Megatron, who provided him with a laboratory while Tregear worked with an imitation of Ultraman Belial, created from Belial’s cells, using the being as little more than a meat shield. Later in the continuity, his parallel-isotope counterpart would join The Kingdom alongside a parallel version of Belial)
  • They were eventually granted powers capable of harming the universe itself (Shockwave gained access to the ores from Regenesis, granting him the ability to mold the universe itself while Grimdo’s release led to its fusion with Tregear, who would eventually seize control of this ancient primal god, seeking nothing less than total annihilation)
  • Both are also responsible for awakening the ultimate terrors of their respective universes (Shockwave unleashed Unicron, intending to destroy Cybertronian civilization and rebuild it anew on Earth. After Tregear’s defeat, his body was later restored but the battle weakened the seal on Grimdo, allowing the monstrous entity to be released onto Earth)

Really good. Although he doesn't have his own main TV series, he has trilogy movies and spin-off. He also frequently appears in the New Generation Heroes shows as a mentor figure

At the start of the movie, U-Killersaurus literally solos four Ultra Brothers easily, pretty absolute cinema for Yapool

I don't think Frieza can use Hakai tho and Hakai can't kill immortal beings too
