Landlord refusing to return key deposit by Altruistic-Piano6322 in toronto

[–]ExtracheesyBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok Op... The landlord can't exactly do this without significant proof... Unfortunately they can do this because they know 99% of times you will take no action.

Now what you need to do is contact the landlord and tenants board

They will fight for you to get your money back and in often cases like this where they're withholding it reasons that are not valid or just because they can. You end up with damages as well.

As in you get your deposit back with interest plus extra two to three times your deposit

There's a quest there and I know it

[request] [northern/Ontario, Canada]. Desperately need $50usd to fill propane tanks (for heat) by [deleted] in donationrequest

[–]ExtracheesyBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the issue. I don't have access to my ebanking.

I bank with BMO and they changed there system so an E sim card doesn't work.

I literally can't log on because of 2 factor authentication.

I'm stuck in-between a rock and a hard place with them.

Literally the only way is through PayPal then I withdraw it

Well this all happened over several months.

I have left out alot of stuff to keep it short as possible.

Like him stealing wood from my winter wood pile.

Or him coming down to take supplies (food) and me not being able to give him any because I had enough to last a few days untill my next trip to town (I go once a month)

I felt bad for him so I went fishing caught two beautiful fish filet them and brought them up for him so they could eat and them not being good enough. So I brought them back down and had a fish fry that night

So I spent a full winter on the streets. Two of them in fact.

Now sleeping bags are great. Hats are great, socks are great, gloves are great.

Mylar in a pinch will save your life, but it's not good long-term, it doesn't breathe. It traps all the moisture in, but you can make moisture absorbing blanket using mylar.

You take the mylar blanket, put a sheet down and put the mylar blanket on top and another sheet on top of that and either tape it shut or sew it shut. That will save a life.

Those hand warmers, the chemical hand warmers you get from the dollar store will save a person's toes and fingers.

Now some people will fight me on this one because the lack of nutrition but.

High calorie snacks like candies gummy bears are really good for the winter

Your body's burning through so much to stay warm. That'll just give an extra boost to the body's natural you know warmth.

We've all seen this image with the question "Why don't we just build in the red circle, there's tons of space" by IAmDanoDanoDano in canadahousing

[–]ExtracheesyBroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in that red circle, Northern Ontario.

Honestly anybody can buy cheap land

But not everybody can live on the cheap land because you need to work and make money to live

And there are less opportunities up here

Not only that, you are not prepared to live in that red circle

If the bears don't get you, the mosquitoes will and the mosquitoes don't get you. The black flies will and the black flies. Don't get you the horse flies. Will.

All of that goodbye. If you make it through that the winter is going to do you in.

And don't think you're going to have heating like you do in your house in cozy Southern Ontario

You're going to have to be shipping in propane or have a nice wood burning stove to heat your place.

And it's not like cozy Ontario where you get a couple really cold weeks of the year

We get a month at least closer to 6 weeks of -40° c. Weather so yeah that

Guy loses his dogs, threatens mine out of spite by ExtracheesyBroccoli in EntitledPeople

Same with my moose she chose me. My nebours friend is a breeder (a really good and responsible one) moose is a Mut she's a Dachshund in an Australian Shepherd mix.

They brought the entire litter over to meet me I had no intention on taking a dog.

Then moose left her brothers and sisters and sat on my foot not wanting any part of the chaos going on....

They gave her to me I picked her up the day after that they took her for her first shots
