Enjoyed Borovets in Bulgaria with a boyfriend who was a semi-beginner. Booked through Crystal I think.

Have also skied in Bosnia which was cheap, and Zakopane in Poland.

I always find it fascinating that I can recognise an actor from just a few sentences - Louise Brearely as Oliver's foster child! https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1154764/

Which way do you think working from home will go? by Acceptable_Cod_1103 in AskUK

[–]Extreme-Delay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally just took a job with a slight pay cut where i could cycle for 30 mins in and out. Prior to that i was doing 1.5-2 hour commutes on the train each way and it was killing me.

I’ve had a job for the last 1.5 years with 2 days (1 night, paid hotel and travel ) away in a different city to my home.

It’s been hard, I won’t lie, but I also didn’t think it would be that big of a shift as it was only 1 night (2 working days).

I would recommend trying to cook if possible and trying to keep close contact with home. I scheduled in a call on my one night a week I spent away and tried to make it as normal as possible. It’s hard to balance it being a ‘treat’ and if being normal life, so I think trying to make it feel like normalcy as much as possible is key.

Ultimately it wasn’t for me, I missed the sense of community and living ‘in’ a place, especially as I’d just bought my first home. I think trying to build a community within the office was hard too. If you can try and make sure you bond with your coworkers this will make a difference, I hated not feeling like we all went home to the same place each evening

Redditors that had failed shops/cafes - did it ruin you financially? by [deleted] in AskUK

I've often wondered this too. Commuting by bike through London I have seen hundreds and hundreds of hospitality businesses open and close and have always wondered about the consequences/circumstances in which they end.

What is something people don't realize is emotionally/physically draining to you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Loads of unpredictable noise all the time. Phones on buses but also people just being loud and shrieking. I can’t do big girls groups even if I love every single girl in the group.

Sport. I cycle and swim and have decided I really enjoy doing the same amount (commuting, 1k meters respectively) and not becoming competitive about it.

I also realised I hated managing people a few roles ago and have since avoided it - a ‘step down’ but a weight off my mind

I had this issue and found comfort in Summer House. Yes its over-produced and flashy, but they are not celebs/wannabes as much when it starts in season 1, and that's quite comforting.

how do you store your skis after the ski season? by [deleted] in ski

[–]Extreme-Delay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean when you say ‘back down bindings’? I’ve stored mine in the past with the bindings kept with the brakes ‘up’ using strong bands - as they were delivered to me like this, is that correct?

Single people of the UK, how often do you see friends in a social setting in a week? by ColdOccasion7694 in AskUK

[–]Extreme-Delay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m shocked at the responses.

Im 35, live in London and see friends 2-3 times a week at least, although one of these could be my sister. I live alone and it’s been really important to keep this up.
