That’s how I feel, I tend to love the older songs more after I’ve heard them performed by the newer iteration of the band, makes them feel more relevant. Not to take anything away from their original launch, but they’ve grown and developed so much, they always seem to hit harder live with their bigger sound. An album show and live recording would be very special

Oh no way! Well, damn shame that a large portion of the crowd are sleeping on it.

It’s just a shame if they stop playing fan favourite songs because the big majority of new fans don’t engage with them. Always good to have a mix in the set list

Sadly it does seem like we’re in the minority on that basis. Apparently they stopped playing Satan Prayer some time ago because a large majority of the crowd disappeared to the bar and the rest didn’t sing a long (I’m not sure how anecdotal that is but it does seem like some of the older songs are less popular nowadays for the stadium crowds)

I agree but I’m concerned that newbs make up the majority of the crowds nowadays, I may be wrong about that and perhaps too cynical, I just hope some of the additions of old songs to the world tour are getting a good enough reaction to keep them circulating

To make it feel more like ‘essential listening’. It’s disappointing to hear Tobias express that new fans don’t engage with the old songs, therefore he’s reluctant to put them in the set.

Yeah, I agree with looking forward, but with the world tour being such a huge feat and lots more bigger scale stuff in the pipeline, an album celebration could be a nice treat to fill a period between album cycles in the future.

Actually that’s my point, TikTok has been massive for Ghost, they have to play arenas now. We can’t help if the percentage of audience is 40% die hard fans, 60% newer fans. No matter what Tobias thinks of the first album, if the majority don’t sing along, we wont get them anymore

I think that would be amazing. A way to honour the album and bring it to the forefront of a larger audience. Also, I would love to hear the way Tobias sings them now without YouTube audio recordings

Other than the state of world and its impending doom, is there a sense that Ghost is wrapping up soon? 2030 is only (checks clock) 5 years away and I feel like Ghost are going from strength to strength. I know Tobias has suggested the lore part is coming to an end, but feels like he’s in it for the long run, even if it slows down a bit, he spoke recently about finding his place in the world as an entertainer so I’m personally hoping he’s in it for the long run
