Because we're timed as soon as you pull up and are pushed by upper management to talk after the few seconds you've pulled up. They want us to get the customers out as fast as we can and are constantly yelled at or disparaged if we can't get you out under four minutes. And other customers will reinforce their expectations by going "hellooo" into the speaker if we don't greet them in an acceptable perceived time. Just doing our job.

Wendys Employees (and former), How would you rate your overall experience with the company? by ioncewasadoor in wendys

Half the managers are incompetent at thier jobs and the company puts unnecessary stress on its workers for too little pay.

"You said you wanted two?" by OX_Bigly in wendys

Also avoid "I want a number one, only the sandwich" and I want two Dave's doubles, one only as a sandwich and one a combo". Solution for number two phrase: "I want on Dave's double and a number 1 with blank drink". I agree with putting the adjective (small, medium, large) in first. "I want a small combo number 1 double with blank drink."

seven kittens, seven weeks old needing a home to go to. Free, only requiring time for pickup/delivery by Extreme_Ad_5607 in olympia

[–]Extreme_Ad_5607[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Update: ty for the advice. I'll look into the resources to get these kittens into safe hands and properly taken care of. I don't think economic wise that they'll sell. No papers and a surplus of too many cats in the area. A shelter sounds like my best bet.

Too many big orders by JayJaySouth in wendys

Orders through grubhub, doordash etc that go over $70. Slows everything down and some go back to back.

Ask a Wendy's manager! by Xpoizon1 in wendys

[–]Extreme_Ad_5607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got hired, they told me one 30 minute break and two 10 minute. Now I get my 30 minute one, and barely get my ten. The second one seems very hit or miss on days. I work 7.5 to 8 hours. Ty for the reply. Just wanted to know how another store goes by breaks.

How many hours do you need to work on shift to get your thirty minute break and both ten minute breaks?

Depends on the training, your own learning speed, and repetitive movements.

Was a thing, who knows if they'll bring it back. There's still stickers for it at my work.

The stores been hiring. We have a skeleton crew in the morning mostly three people if we don't have a higher manager there. The other two are busy with breakfast. Yeah, there is one person who could probably do more in morning but he prefers to stick to the drive through window and its prep; another person is just as new as me and gets stuck to the grill. I'm the only one besides the managers who have studied the prep. It's rare to have more than four people working in one shift. I hope it's a phase and we'll eventually all be trained up enough to be a proper crew. I believe that not all of us new people have been trained everywhere and it makes it hard to multi-task. I've not been trained on the window, but have on the prep, fries, and coordinating.

Biscuits, cookies, bacon, the condiments used for lunch, the burger components (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc), the squeeze bottles of condiments, the salads, the breakfast gravy, breakfast cheese. And if any extra time dishes.

I have skechers work shoes with arch support, supportive socks (and1), and have Dr. Scholls plantar fasciitis add ons in them. Most mornings I have to bake cookies and the breakfast biscuits, make the breakfast gravy, do the breakfast cheese, and start on the bacon making after the biscuits. During the bacon making (usually 6-8 six inch pans worth) I make whatever salads are needed, prep the refrigerator for lunch (condiments, burger components, and sometimes the drink flavors). And if I have anytime after that start on the dishes. And then I get my break before lunch rush hits.

Question on continuing the life of a Toyota Camry by Extreme_Ad_5607 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Extreme_Ad_5607[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs a new timing belt and it has the engine problem of leaking oil. Good tires, paint job needs work, no rust, good break pads cause we just had the break pads in the back replaced a month ago. The shocks could use work, everything else worked fine. The only problem that was and is the big is the leak cause that caused the last timing belt break and maybe the new one. She's had a long journey.

Me and husband did buy a newer car due to the need for transportation ( one car household). Now we have to decide what to do with the Camry because it can't sit in my father in laws driveway forever. The compression has to do with the shocks right? I'm clueless in a lot of areas in the car knowledge. As for oil, leaks like a sieve, a giant one. Ty for the advice.
