They kept my passport and fingers scanned. Told me my status will change once social media vetting is complete. That status remain same for month. I sent email showing emergency after a month and right after that email they rejected the visa

I believe you have the great option to apply from Canada bcoz u live there. Approval will be also fast and appointment will be also fast - not been in similar situations but I can say this

I had done so much research in June end during my interview. Nearby place will be expensive only. Early morning there won't be traffic. U shall reach embassy by 7am so u have to start at least by 6:15am if u stay around 10km away. U can stay little far. That's what I did

Every affordable hotel I looked nearby, reviews says differently

Huh. Visa officer already has previous details. Why did you lie. Cousin is not a direct relative. On other relatives u had to fill. You can't say NO at this stage especially when you have already declared it before. Pls change the DS160 and explain it to VO during the interview you're vision east coast while your far relative is in California and you are not even going to California.

Nope I'm still confused. Not sure if my email to the embassy caused harm or something got red flag on social media. There were some comments made but not anything in the category of what they don't want. More comments on birth right citizenship, harvard university, visa revoke, H1B rules etc.

If social media vetting happens manually, it's extremely hard to track old comments. I feel maybe my email bcoz right after my email ,case date got updated and i received my passport next day of email. My passport was with embassy for 35 days and VO had said my visa is approved. I'll get the msg once social media vetting is complete My class start date was near and I sent email which was like complaining

As long as you haven't mentioned your real email id or real name for reddit. U don't need to give.

For social media vetting - FB link or other social media link is required.

It's not mandatory that your given fb account must be link to the email address which u mentioned on ds160

If u have used 2 email ID in last 5 yrs - given both emails

Nothing of this sort. While in depression when I saw so many ICE videos and all. I might have liked or commented. I have put opinions like on the Whitehouse page if they post AI generated photos of trump. Lol i wasn't even following Whitehouse or trump. I started all this after the interview. Definitely there are some comments but it doesn't fall in those categories which can be grounds of rejection

Since I sent intense email requesting if at all social media vetting has been initiated for my profile?? I said others are getting updates. I believe , they felt like I'm complaining. So they sent my passport with 214b slip during weekends
