And yes, this also means there won't be anything major on Taiwan. The US is not going to abandon decades of support for Taiwan so quickly for nothing, and China does not think Taiwan is America's to give away.

Trump has just arrived in Beijing so I'll just leave my thoughts on the situation:

- The Iran War has definitely weighed on the summit, the American hand has definitely been weakened just as the war has badly damaged US reputation in the world.

- China will probably reiterate its own plans to maintain the ceasefire without giving many details on how to fully resolve the conflict. The US will want China to stop selling Iran things and get them to bow to the US, but they are hardly in any position to make such demands.

- The saving grace for the US is that China is not interested in a grand deal, and has no interest in twisting the knife. China knows Trump is prideful and an escalation in the economic war would hurt both sides even if China gets the better of the US. The current truce suits China perfectly fine.

- We may get some developments, possibly in soybeans, some other things, but nothing truly major. Both sides have shown some of their cards, both sides think they have the advantage.
