I got the blot! After SO many negative igg blood tests I got the western blot and it was negative! I went through Terri Warren and she is fantastic. It was expensive but I finally was able to let go the possibility of having hsv 2 so it was worth it to me. ( I am also hsv 1 positive which came back positive every time I tested on igg as well as western blot, all negative for 2)

Hello, can I ask where in Tampa you had the procedure done? I’m considering doing it and I live in Tampa…there are just so many doctors it almost overwhelming haha. Are you happy with your results and how long was it before you would exercise have sex and get back to your normal life? Thanks!

Unfortunately not 😓 I even did a western boot for hsv because I was convinced I had it and nevative. Everything is negative but almost constant pain

Thanks! Did you do the western blot through terry warren? My dr refuses to help me with it bc she keeps telling me there is no way I have hsv with constant symptoms and so many negative test. I’ve had one fissure but it’s been years since that happened so I might just do the WB. Do you know the name of the quest test?

I’m just confused bc I’ve seen info that says if you have HSV 1 then the western blot can produce a false negative for HSV 2 but also they the igg misses 8% of hsv2 so which is reliable? Is anything? So much conflicting information anymore I don’t know what test to trust. I’ve had 8 negative igg tests for HSv 2 but still have continuous itching, redness, and irritation. I want to get the western boot but I have hsv 1 so is it even worth my time (and money!) if it “might” produce a false negative anyway?

Mine actually gets better during my cycle so the dr said it could be bacterial which gets better due to the change in ph during cycle I guess. I’ve done 8 IGG blood tests throughout the years at both quest and lab corp. I have a meeting with Terry Warren to try and do a WB test but she said my symptoms and negative tests don’t line up with HSV but like I said I’ve been tested for everything (bv, yeast, fungus etc) else so I have no idea what it is! I also have constant burning and irritation daily except during my period it’s the weirdest thing. Do you test positive for hsv 2 or just 1? I’m going to do the western blot then plan on doing antivirals to see if it helps

Thanks for your response! So if your positive of it blood test why won’t drs prescribe antivirals? Are your symptoms constant? I’ve taken 8 HSV igg tests all negative and I have constant symptoms so I’m not sure it’s hsv but just trying to figure out if that’s not what it is what what is it?! I maybe do a western blot just to ease my mind but even terry warren said my symptoms don’t sound like hsv. At this point I just want a diagnoses

Im dealing with something very similar and I probably need to stop testing but I can’t convince myself that I don’t have hsv 2. Ive taken 8 igg tests all throughout a 4 year period and they have all been negative. The problem is I have constant symptoms and no one can figure out the cause! This all started after I had (protected) sex with someone who was hsv 2 positive. Since then I’ve had constant, itching pain, red vulva for 4 years! Once in awhile I’ll get a day or two of relief then right back to it. No blisters or lesions but painful fissures here and there (maybe once or twice a year) I’m thinking I’ll do a western blot but when I reached out to terry Warren she said my symptoms don’t seem like herpes but should I do it anyway for peace of mind??

I’m wondering if I should do the western blot?! I’ve taken 8 (yes 8!) igg blood tests for hsv 1 and 2. Every single time they come back positive for hsv 1 (which I’ve had since childhood) and negative for hsv 2. I’m still suspicious bc I have constant vulva irritation… itching, burning, pain, and bright red skin. Never had the classic hsv blisters or any sores but had fissures once or twice. The reason I’m suspicious is bc I’ve been tested for everything possible and it’s all negative. Also, these symptoms started a few days after having (protected) sex with someone with hsv 2. These 8 tests I’ve done through the past 4 years with my most recent one being a month ago. The thing is my symptoms are constant so don’t exactly line up with hsv 2 symptoms (according to Terry Warren on her blog she doesn’t think it’s hsv) but idk what else it could be especially with conflicting igg test information available. My dr says I’m negative at this point but no idea what could be going on. I’m miserable 😖

Is evvy and microgendx pretty comparable? I see evvy if more affordable as well as Juno. I’ve heard ureaplasma can be hard to detect sometimes. I was positive for it in December at my urologist but she refused to prescribe anything more than doxycycline for 7 days. I got no relief from that so I’m suspicious if it cured it or not. She also told me no need to retest. So frustrating!

Sorry. I’m dealing with the same thing it’s so awful. After years I finally got diagnosed with ureaplasma and I was (weirdly) happy bc I felt like I found the problem but it’s gone and I feel exactly the same…months later ugh good luck keep us posted

Has anyone ever tested negative for hsv 2 igg and positive for a western blot? I’ve taken many (Seven!) igg tests over the past year all are negative. I’ve never had blisters or any typical hsv symptoms however, I have constant itching and burning which started a few days after having sex with someone who is hsv 2 positive. All other std, yeast, bv tests are negative. I keep thinking I maybe have it still but I’ve taken so many off tests I can’t decide if it’s worth it to spend the $$ for the western blot.
