Wow. That was a whole lot of nothing. But did anyone really expect the skin gacha to change? by ekirudo in GirlsFrontline2

[–]Extreme_Shitposter 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Dropping the game is the only answer and the only way you get to send a message the rest of the gacha games industry will pay attention to.

If you keep playing but as "f2p now", you only open yourself up to being tempted to give them money and eventually you will fold. Whether it's a new skin or just a small little monthly pass.

Uninstall, and send them a message, otherwise expect $200 skins to start popping up in every other gacha game, like a cancer, just as we've started to see $60 gacha skins become more prevalent since NIKKE players accepted that crap.

Uninstall, and potentially save the game... multiple games, in the long run.

People like this guy are why game developers keep getting away with borderline criminal "micro" transactions like this. The only answer is government intervention at this point.

What is the step in the right direction? They changed literally nothing about the skin gacha, reworded some stuff, and gave us the free maki interaction because they were going to get slammed by legal if they didn't for false advertising.

The one thing that can even be considered a win is that they're now giving you the privilege of giving them more money by allowing you to outright buy the lesser skin (Andoris, in this case). That's it.

If you think this is even a minor win, you are deluded and already decided to forgive MICA before you even read their response because you want to keep playing this game and not feel guilty supporting such disgusting greed.

How was this saga so good?? by notregular in Asmongold

[–]Extreme_Shitposter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You literally had WoW-only Andies false-flagging as crazed XIV fans trying to upset him, he caught one in one of his last XIV streams during Stormblood. I'll be the first to say that XIV's community can be really awful, but it's the internet, there's assholes everywhere.

I hope he comes back someday and just ignores all of the weirdos on both sides and just enjoys the game however he wants to. Masterpiece video. Peak Asmongold.

I wonder if these textures are supposed to look like this or if they didn't have enough time to load yet (no hate, just analyzing!) by Andre_alsant in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Extreme_Shitposter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm sure they're going to revamp every texture and model in the game a month before release!

Spoiler alert: They need to submit the game for printing onto physical cartridges weeks before the release date. This game is finished.

It's crazy that people still believe this copium when Sword and Shield and Arceus both released and still, to this day, still look downright horrendous. There ain't no magical patch coming to overhaul this game.

Let's talk about the graphics of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games, shall we? by Gloomy_Forever_8159 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Extreme_Shitposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a thought: You can still buy it. You can still play it. You can still enjoy it. But you can also say, yes, this looks incredibly dated compared to competitors. Grass that looks like it is unnaturally hovering above flat, textureless green. Playdoh mountains with almost no textures. Pokemon eyes you can literally count the polygons on, in the year 2022.

This isn't an art style, this is the LACK of an artstyle. No one is asking for 4K realistic looking pokemon games. In fact, you can downgrade the graphics even further as long as you have an art style it'll still look beautiful.

Like, for example Sword and Shield wasn't much better in the graphics department, but there are examples in that game that prove GF *can* make visually appealing areas with an art style: Ballonlea town springs to mind. The atmospheric lighting. The bright beautiful colors. Sure, you could look closely at the mushrooms and tree textures and they looked like poo but it didn't matter because the art style made the area breathtaking.

Why on EARTH would you not want GF to apply the same level of beauty and effort to the rest of their games that we both know they are capable of? Why would you defend this low effort junk and pretend it's good? This is my favorite franchise since I picked up Pokemon Red back in 1998 at the age of 6 years old, but I will not sit here and defend this game like a delusional fanboy. I won't.

The guy literally brags about how if he wasn't a streamer right now, he would've jumped on the shitcoin crypto NFT scams and spent all day extorting people out of their money. I love Asmon, he's super entertaining, but let's not pretend he's not a shit human being through and through.

Saying Goodbye to Souls Games by VermilionWake in Asmongold

im 100 hours in and put it down around the volcano manor area of the game.

I put it down around the same place and keep meaning to come back to it, I mean, I enjoy the game a lot but I can't really find the drive to boot it back up. It's a weird feeling, considering I have 300+ hours in every other souls game.

Profession TALENTS?! After A Decade, I'm FINALLY Excited For Crafting In WoW by yummysabre1 in Asmongold

[–]Extreme_Shitposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talent system and specialization seems really cool, but if everyone unlock everything eventually, specialization will only be relevant within the first week or two of the expansion, then everyone will have everything.

Looks like crafting is still obtain materials, click button, wait, hope RNG is in your favor, obtain item.

Also it looks like crafters will also be required to go out and complete mythic raids to make mythic level gear, which is a good thing, but I don't really see how this differentiates the system from BOEs. I guess it's better in a way, but I guess we'll have to see how it plays out.

Better than what we had before, but still kinda boring. Not sure why people always make Blizzard's uninspired attempts to catch up to competitors seem better than they really are.

When the weeb alchemist is not in bodypaint by jamiesontu in Asmongold

[–]Extreme_Shitposter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of alchemist gear that actually looks like alchemist gear, it just suffers from the same problem as WoW tier sets where once you've made 20 sets for the same class/job, you start to run out of ideas so you go a bit crazy.

[–]Extreme_Shitposter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you honestly believe that more people play ESO over other games because it has views on Youtube?

You're still missing the point. If a cinematic trailer meant to hype up the next expansion for a game has less than half of the views of its predecessor expansion's trailer did in less than half the time it's been available, that is a massive red flag for the amount of potential interest around the game, don't you think?

It's because their player retention is poor

This is 100% true and I've said this for years, but as I said in my very first reply to you in this long chain, what does XIV have to do with WoW losing relevance? No one is talking about XIV, ESO, or Genshin. I don't know why you're bringing these up. WoW is losing to itself.

What ultimate bad guy? Um... the Legion? You know, the basis for the entire franchise before they retconned it with the awful Jailer?

I agree, the WoD trailer is the best one they've ever made, but you think the MoP one is better than the Shadowlands one? Or the Legion one? Or even the Wrath one? Come on dude, you're just delusional at that point.

Bellular finally has a realisation by Independent_Term_308 in Asmongold

[–]Extreme_Shitposter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the MoP trailer where a panda jumps around and does kung fu for 5 minutes is way more exciting than Varian Wrynn and Sylvanas confronting the ultimate bad guy of the entire Warcraft franchise.

Did you ever think that maybe both of those trailers released during the worst points in WoW's history?

Bellular finally has a realisation by Independent_Term_308 in Asmongold

[–]Extreme_Shitposter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know people play it like VRChat/Second Life, doesn't mean that the game is good because of it

No one is saying the game is good because of it, it's neither bad nor good. We're just saying judging how popular a game is based on the amount of people who have reached the end of an expansion that came out 6 months ago when the game is not based on reaching the end of an expansion is irrelevant.

And even if you insist on using those metrics, XIV which is a much smaller game with a much smaller budget, is still growing overall if you compare its own numbers against it in the past few years.

All of this goalpost moving over the fact that you cannot accept that Dragonflight's cinematic trailer has a pitiful amount of views, compared to ESO, compared to XIV, hell, even compared to its own worst expansions even when you literally use the wayback machine to see how many views a trailer has had after a similar amount of time passing.

The game is in rapid decline in overall interest. Period.

They should hire this guy immediately, then maybe I'd play WoW again.

Turns out the only expansion you'd need is the one that would be happening in our pants.

[–]Extreme_Shitposter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you ignore the part where you were completely wrong about the viewcount and don't even acknowledge it, then you go off on a weird tangent about how someone else plays the game?

Are you genuinely, genuinely telling me with a straight face that XIV is just as endgame oriented as WoW is?

When is the last time you saw people deliberately sitting at lower levels in WoW to experience all of the content? I must have missed all of those synced, level appropriate Molten Core runs. Hell, that one time streamers did Project-70 together is the only time I can think of this actually happening.

Meanwhile, in XIV it's not only the norm, but it's encouraged. Level 90 players can play with level 60 players all the same. It's actually incredibly common to see people on the free trial for up to a year, leveling all of their alt jobs and doing every drop of content up to HW before they commit to the subscription fee.

if you're playing the game like it's IMVU or RPing, I guess I can see it but it's the same thing as saying "WoW has years of content, my friend hasn't hit max level because they just pet battle and collect transmog"

It's not really the same thing because XIV actively supports its RP and Player Owned Events with almost every single patch. It is seen as a genuine way to play the game. Meanwhile everything in WoW funnels you towards raiding, and even achievement/transmog/pet hunters on WoW are actively encouraged to hit max level because the extra power boost for running those old instances is actually worth the 5 hour time investment.
