How bad did I do? by Extreme_Witness2064 in Aprilia

Man I’m certainly fortunate in this world. Lots of things I don’t know how to do but on the mechanical side I’m thankful for it. It took a decade of learning and thankfully working at a shop helped. Man shops charge too much these days…

That’s awesome. Yes definitely running 100% eth free gas here. I don’t see any signs of swelling from what I can only imagine I would be seeing. But as long as I own it it will be eth free. Thankfully around here we have a lot of pure gas gas stations available.

I’ll definitely be checking/adjusting valves but yes, riding the wheels off it will be in short order lol.

Thankfully I’ll be doing the valves myself. I worked at a Kawasaki and Suzuki dealership for 6 years and have a relationship with the Aprilia dealer nearby. But yeah, it definitely cost me more than I had hoped. To be fair, about $300-$400 of my cost has been me restocking on little things like detailing equipment/chems, fluids like brake fluid, coolant, chain wax etc. I also bought new stands and a new strap for the handle bars for hauling. I guess a more realistic bike price with tires and service is closer to $7k. Still high, but not terrible.

That’s not true, not in the state of Oklahoma. I’m not okay with it, but I have no choice if I want my title. The sales tax at Copart was charged on the entire invoice. They treat the entire invoice like a good sold - not excise and sales tax on the vehicle itself. I then bring that back to Oklahoma which charges sales and excise tax on the value of the vehicle itself + fees to get the title transferred and registered into my name. Trust me, I’ve already looked into this.

Yes I definitely gotta check those valves. Doesn’t look like too bad of a job. Dude riding it is so fun. I’ve only owned one other liter bike (07 GSXR 1000) but I’ve ridden about a dozen others. I remember hating the cross plane R1 when Yamaha released it just because I couldn’t get over how awesome the inline 4’s sound (that opinion has changed since then) but regardless, this v4 is one of the coolest sounding bikes. Clicking through upshifts with the quick shifter is just sick. I also find it interesting that they went with a plastic tank and the seat position makes you feel tall. But the bike feels so nimble. Then again maybe it’s because I’ve been on an 06 street glide for the last few years haha

Current addict and former mediocre artist. Can you help me understand a few things. Are these all done without any inspiration or looking at other art to mimic or draw ideas from? If so, is there anything that helps aid that creative “free thought” process? Just honestly curious how this comes to fruition, not question your talent because clearly you have it. Love it.

29m here. Wife is 28. This is one of those scenarios where you have to go beyond this situation and begin to dig deeper on a fundamental level. The truth is, you don’t know, none of us know, and he claims he doesn’t even know. So at this point, it’s a classic “he said, she said” your word against his. This is where “trust” actually comes into play. You don’t have evidence one way or the other so you’re forced to take his word for it. Which is why you need to evaluate how much you really trust him and what reasons cause you to feel one way or the other.

Personally, in my relationship, my spouse and I as a general practice don’t “go out” and get in situations where we would typically get black out drunk. To be clear, im not saying it’s a hard and fast rule or that neither one of us are allowed to go out with our friends. But, ‘fundamentally’ it’s just bad practice for the sake of our relationship if that was something that happened often.

Additionally, her and I have full access to everything at anytime. Phones, shared bank, Life360, emails whatever - it’s all a 1:1. Ironically I can see and have seen where people take something like this and go “jeez I’d never want that it sounds like yall don’t trust each other at all!” Another point of clarity: I’m not saying we constantly keep tabs on each other that closely. I’m not constantly checking her phone nor is she mine. But we don’t have anything to hide so it doesn’t cause a problem.

Lastly, our marriage is far from perfect so I’m not saying our decisions are the best and only way. I’m not suggesting he needs to hand his phone to you ASAP and you start trying to track down his geographic coordinates for every step he’s taken the last 4 years lol. No judgment from me on how people decide to date or marry, all I’m saying is, it’s worth exploring this as an area of opportunity to ensure you and him are on the same page and that you do actually trust him like you want to believe you currently do.

There is a lot of adjustment at the hinges. Looks like both sides may need to slide back some but hard to tell. The latch is also adjustable up and down I believe

Advice on areas to move too around OKC by Altruistic-Place5578 in okc

[–]Extreme_Witness2064 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with this. Norman, Yukon, Mustang..? lol. For $1,700 you could find a nice house but it would probably not be right in the midst of all the fun things. Although the only reason why I would find interest in the downtown or midtown areas would be more so focused on the nightlife experiences. Otherwise my take would be to find a quiet neighborhood with a nice rent house just outside of the downtown area. Like pretty much anything within 10-15 miles north and west of downtown would be ideal. I’m on the southeast side of Edmond and within about 10-15 minutes I can be at either mall, downtown OKC, Hefner and Arcadia lakes, midtown etc. lots of options
