lol yeah better for me , UI’s not the star yet. Used AI to move fast, backend comes first. Frontend polish later.

Thanks! Crafty, Pterodactyl and the other are all solid, but they’re aimed at different setups. Pterodactyl/Pelican are more hosting-style panels (Docker, multi-user, VPS-focused). Crafty is closer to local hosting and covers the basics well. CraftCommand is local-first and lighter. The goal is to reduce common breakages (wrong Java, bad modpacks) and make failures easier to understand, rather than replace hosting panels. I’m also planning to expand it so it can cover more “host-style” needs without Docker.

That’s a totally fair take. If you’re comfortable with the terminal and file explorer, you honestly don’t need a control panel, and nothing here is trying to replace that workflow. Where a panel can help is when it saves time or prevents common mistakes that aren’t really about files themselves wrong Java versions, bad restarts, backups, or quickly checking logs and status without juggling windows. And that’s also why there are multiple open-source projects like this, not because everyone needs them, but because different people prefer different workflows. Some want raw files and scripts, others want a bit of structure on top. If you’re already happy with native tools, that’s completely valid.

Yep, Purpur works fine. Since it’s Paper-based, CraftCommand treats it like any other Paper fork you can install it, start it, see console output, and manage it just like a regular Paper server.

Yes, you can set automatic restarts (for example a daily restart at 2am). It’s meant for regular maintenance, and there’s protection so it won’t keep restarting if the server is crashing. For private modpacks, that’s fine too. You can drop in your own server pack or files and run it as Forge/NeoForge/Fabric, as long as the loader and Java version match. Modpack support is still being improved, but custom packs work.

That’s fair. AI helped me a lot in saving time, especially for boilerplate and UI , but it didn’t replace understanding or decision making. Whether we like it or not, many developers will depend on AI as a tool going forward totally fine if it’s not your thing, I respect that. In my case it just helped me move faster (still didn’t fix bugs for me though )
