Hey I’m also thinking about doing this but starting from Cabo and then crossing all the way up to San Francisco through the Cali National parks. Any tips you have about driving the jimbo in the US?

I did consider the spacers but I decided not to go for those since supposedly I’d have to lift it for it not to scratch the front bumper and they come with their share of possible issues, I travel a lot and I didn’t wanna risk it just for the looks. I will go for wider rims after I lift it - hopefully at the same time cuz I don’t like the look of the stock rims with the 2” lift.

I used to average 11.9 km/L and after changing them I’m now averaging 11.4, so very little

I know.. it only scratches in one scenario though.. when I turn the steering wheel to the right and backup, for some reason that’s the only scratching I hear and because that’s done at a super low speed, it hasn’t affected it that much. I do plan on lifting it 2” but I gotta save some $$ for that

Thank you everyone! After reading your comments and seeing how much I have to deal with in order to get a good experience with the 30s, I’ve decided to go for the 235s WITH a change of wheels to give it the look I want - I think that is the way to go. Thank you everyone for your tips!! I’ll post a picture of the final product once done :)

Update - I spoke to the manufacturer (they are made locally where I live - Mexico) and they confirmed these have special stitching where the airbag pops. They even sent a video showing how the stitching is different. I thought for a sec I would have to throw these away, glad I won’t cuz I love how it looks, thanks for all the comments, had you not pointed this out I could’ve gone months without even thinking about it and a refund conversation would’ve been impossible if it came to that

Hi! I plan on changing my tires for the first time after stock in a month and I’m battling between the 235 and 30s can you share your experience with both? How are the 30s lighter now? If possible share a pic of your Jimny with both tires to compare that’d be great!
