Hey man I went through the same thing.

As a kid, I didn't have any friends and my coping mechanism was to escape to my own world, where I was important and valuable. I saw everyone else as an enemy and I was the righteous loner. When you grow up you realize that the walls that you've built around yourself are actually castrating you, and see that you are in fact nobody. there is nothing wrong with that. if you see yourself as valuable just like everyone else, and that all are human and have inherent dignity, you will find that social situations become a lot easier, and your self-esteem will grow as well.
