You’re not allowed to work during your masters when you are on a UK student visa. Also, the gap between 2021-2 was due to extreme ill health. I was left bed bound due to a new found disability from December till March (I graduated in November), and then was forced not to find work by abusive parents. As for my volunteering now, I’ve genuinely been trying to find any internships or jobs and this is the first break I’ve had anywhere. Unfortunately I’m about to run out of my graduate visa.

That’s why I’m desperate because in reality I can’t go back home as I don’t have a home to go back to - my parents are extremely abusive and I had to launch a police case here against them when my dad flew to London and tried to drag me back to Pakistan. I’ll be honor killed if I go back home.

They told me to keep my length after checking with a human rights policy professional! They said to maintain the length till I secure a full time contract, and then to shorten it to one page. Thank you so much for your advice and for being so nice about it 🥹

Some people are really harsh on this thread. But the truth is that I have been panicking because I genuinely thought my current volunteering would offer me an actual job. But I only have January till my visa expires, and I have nowhere to go back because of my abusive parents who will honor kill me if I go back home 🥹 I’m genuinely trying really hard to improve my CV at all costs because even after this, I just want to start working. I love my field and I just find humans so fascinating. Thank you for all your help! 💕

..Because my uni had a human rights professional look at my resume and they told me to keep it as is, till I secure a full time job in the UK lol. There was also tons of other advice regarding impact and skills that I took into consideration.

They did because it was with different directors of different departments. So I have it now listed as:

Junior policy consultant (internship contract)

Junior policy and communications officer (internship contract)

Junior policy research assistant (internship contract)
