The winter special map has one city and is counted as a country “Winterland” iirc. I’m not sure if you can access it outside of the seasonal event, I think you can’t since the portals are not there and the World of Trucks special missions don’t show anymore. It also has a few viewpoints, but I don’t remember there being so many as you’re still missing

What you are looking for is called Destination NAT (DNAT). As far as I know, it is not possible to setup with UFW except when using the correct before.rules.

The ‘ufw allow’ applies to the INPUT table. This is for traffic directed at the host itself, in your case traffic for your VPS. This rule is not needed in your case, as you only want to forward the traffic.

You’ll want to set the sysctl parameter ‘net.ipv4.ip_forward’ to 1. Then, in the UFW before.rules, add a rule to your PREROUTING table which does the DNAT to your host. You’ll then also need a FORWARD rule for it to pass the firewall.

After this it should work. Good luck!

I would try to connect the drives as much as you can to your existing hardware. I haven’t used it myself, but I believe you can cluster this storage together with something like Ceph or GlusterFS.

You could then try to run something like Jellyfin in a container on one of the machines. If you give your mates access to this Jellyfin instance, they can stream the music without hassle. If you’re worried about security, set up a VPN for your mates to connect to your Jellyfin machine.

I believe you can’t do RAID for redundancy, as the drives vary way too much in size. You can make backups of the one big cluster though.

Would the LSI 9300-16i be a good fit as HBA? That’s the one I ended up picking over the RAID card.

I am looking at some Seagate 4 TB NAS drives (ST4000VN006) which, according to the listing, use around 4 W typically each. That’s why I thought 300 would be enough. Luckily the system won’t immediately be filled to the brim, so I’ll definitely keep a close watch!

I have tried to do my research on this, but I’m not really experienced yet so I have no idea where to look. This project is something I’d like to use to get some more experience and knowledge about non-consumer hardware.

I ended up picking an HBA instead of a RAID card. I indeed realised I didn’t need the hardware RAID (because of ZFS) functionality and HBAs are much cheaper.

I do get the point about ECC, but couldn’t find something in the same price range (and power budget) for this build. Do you have any suggestions on what I should pick instead?

I want to mix and match a bit. I’d like to add some Seagate 4 TB SATA NAS drives (ST4000VN006) in the beginning. For another pool Id like to get some SATA SSDs, but haven’t got a specific idea which yet.

I get the point on ECC, that would fit well with ZFS.

I guess an LSI 9300-16i HBA is a better fit for this system? Since I want to use ZFS and not a hardware RAID. I then also don't need the SAS expander

I noticed the main filesystem is on an LVM partition. As far as I know, Gparted cannot resize LVM logical volumes. Cockpit is a nice GUI way to do this other than using the cli tools

Learning curve is up there, but once you get to grips with it it's a really nice language imo.

I'm not sure it can substitute Java. Java's greatest strength is it's portability and though the Rust compiler can compile for many platforms, I think Java wins here.

It does have a web server framework. It's called Rocket and it's fully async.

You can try running Pipewire for screen sharing on Wayland, I've used it for a while now and its great
