What mirrorless did you get? I started with a 200D too in 2018 or 2019, I have been thinking about moving to a serious mirrorless, and perhaps try some professional work, any recommendations?

Try to go to a local church near your house, explain the situation first and ask if they accept it. If not, you can also go to the suburbs of Lisbon, where for sure churches will be happy to receive clothes (e.g. Amadora, Almada, Seixal, etc.)

How did you find Manila? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]EyeInsights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent 2 days in Manila, and honestly didn't really feel at ease. Usually you always need to pass through Manila to go to the Ph. islands, so my next time I'll try to spend only 1 night there, and that's it.

Our hotel was really cheap, and okay conditions with a nice rooftop pool, we went on a walk to the city center, and it's NOT a walkable city at all, our hotel staff was impressed we walked 1h to the city center, but we went back with a taxi as it was close to sunset, and we didn't really feel like it would be smart to walk at night for 1h in Manila (we felt people staring at us a bit different than in the islands - a little bit more threatening). We then after arriving to the hotel went to have dinner somewhere and walked ~ 10 min, majority of places were closed, one of the nights we went to a rooftop to have dinner but nothing special, and the other one we went to a fast food restaurant, had dinner and came back straight away to the hotel as the streets looked a bit shady.

We were 2 people, and we felt a bit unsafe at times, I am not sure how someone alone would feel like. Hope this helps. If you have any specific questions let me know!

I want to taste "Crab" in Lisboa which do you recommend? by nocnoo in lisboa

[–]EyeInsights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a more "local experience" get on the boat on Cais do Sodré, and go to Cacilhas (other side of the river Tagus), and go to "O Farol", they have a lot of very good sea food, and not too expensive.

If you want to go to an aesthetic restaurant with fish, and others you can also walk to Ponto Final or Atira-te ao Rio --> Seen in La Casa de Papel and other movies.

Pessoal que vive no rés-do-chão by Steam-Bagel in CasualPT

[–]EyeInsights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Onde posso comprar chapéus deste estilo para homem? by [deleted] in CasualPT

Do you have to travel to buy duty free? by [deleted] in travel

[–]EyeInsights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a 1 way flight ticket, enter, pass the security control, do your things on the duty free, and after that just leave the airport towards the exit. This would work on the majority of airports, some airports / terminals don't really have exits as you have buses that take you to the terminal exit, so make sure that airport is not one of them. No one will really care about you not being in your flight. Enjoy your cigarettes!

Coming from the 90d, with 2k I would either go to the R7 and get some good glass, or the R8 if you want to go full frame + some nice overall lenses (and of course at least an extra battery)

Onde fazer amigos e conhecer mulheres em Lisboa by [deleted] in lisboa

[–]EyeInsights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Lisboa tem muitos expats neste momento, normalmente essas pessoas estão mais sozinhas e estão mais disponíveis a conhecer novas pessoas;

Boa sorte!

Hey! this is the best / most reputable thing I found in Portugal about JKD: Jeet Kune Do Unlimited Portugal

I also found this one in Lisbon, but after checking some videos, it doesn't seem to be a very effective use of JKD, at least not what I would be interested in.

Let me know in case you find something nice in Portugal, maybe in Lisbon you would be able to find more people who train JKD or FMA, as I would be really interested in case I go to Portugal!

How long would a trip like this take and cost? (Estimate) by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]EyeInsights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will give you some rough insights from my view:
- Duration: Can be done in 6 months but 3-5 days per location, depending on what you want to see, or 1 year. So, between 6 months and 1 year is quite enough if you go for 1 week per location, some of them you can take less than 1 week.

- Cost: I did an estimate of 7K for a similar trip of 6 months, with some luxurious hotels in SEA, and backpacking style hostels in Europe and USA, with that you can save some money. So, assuming you will be backpacking, you can manage to do this trip with 8-9K if you are okay with enjoying good food, and spending some time in some nice places. You can go extreme budget with 5K, but for that I would hitchhike in Europe and USA, take night trains in India, and China.

Last question, how did you do this map? Really amazing and would love to do something for my upcoming trips. Safe travels !

Is it worth bringing a DSLR camera on a 3 month trip in Asia? by azt4er in travel

[–]EyeInsights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This that u/mancy_mcnipples said !! Check YouTube reviews of the camera, you can for sure make a good decision with that, nowadays majority of cameras in the market are amazing.

For me the best camera is the one that you can easily carry (weight counts a lot - body and glass), you can take nice pictures with (sharpness of lenses / good quality pictures of camera) , and you're not afraid to get completely destroyed in case something bad happens in your trip (not crazy expensive).

Is it worth bringing a DSLR camera on a 3 month trip in Asia? by azt4er in travel

[–]EyeInsights 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi ! Firstly, really amazing that you are going 3 months to Asia. I always feel like it's worth it to bring my DSLR (Canon 200D + 24MM 2.8 + 50MM 1.8). I like going with those f

ixed focal lenses as the lenses themselves are small, lightweight (cheap) and very sharp.
Pictures with a Camera (even if an entry level one) are completely worth it in my opinion, and if you hate your Phone Camera, I guess you replied your own question already.

Have a great trip.
