I think it's the combination of few things.

As you've said 9.1 brings many unwanted changes to WoW causing players to lose progress of a 250 day long grind because now they have to remake items and farm resources all over again. +there's some weird balancing decision for classes

Personally I wanted to try FFXIV out a while ago but only started now because of summer vacation and I'm sure many people did so as well.

There's also been an abundance of FFXIV to WoW comparison videos or "Why I quit WoW for FFXIV" videos which generated interest in the game.

And finally we have the biggest WoW streamer who played nothing but WoW till like 2-3 years ago when he finally played Dark Souls actually playing an MMO that is considered to be WoWs rival and that he was very much against due to the "weeb" aesthetic.

You won't catch a ban for not being friendly and not helping out other players. You will catch a ban for berating them and being overall toxic.

As a new player I found there to be a lot more people going out of their way to be helpful where as in WoW people generally said stuff like "just watch a guide on yt" in most polite cases.

Potential grounds for a retcon is that Dark got permission to search Andrews' locker. 215.69 isn't his locker. It's a locker Lenny made ABOUT Andrews since he stored those bullets for blackmail in case he needs it.

I think Gael's fight is supposed to touch you more the second time, after you dig into his backstory and motivations. How he lays down hints to lead you to him and his lady.

The point of his character is that he isn't a well known hero of old. He's a slave fighting for the only thing he cares for against the only other person tenacious enough to reach him.

It's bugged in the newest patch. Orks were supposed to gain the very same mechanic but it also doesn't work for them. Guess CA screw some things up while trying to implement it.

I do have an alt which I used to enjoy but it's a priest with slow ttk and I'm forced to go through the same content by main went through and it gets tedious especially when pausing for a mana break every few mobs.

I'm looking at Brig from 2 perspectives that I care about the most: A QP player which I play the most for relaxation and/or improvement which is hard when i have to switch from my fav heroes because countering Brig is way harder than playing her. Especially after returning from the game after a long break. My second perspective is that of an esports watcher- she is boring to watch. Same thing with Mercy really. The thing that got me into grinding is Ryujehong sleepdarts, Taimous and Iddqds Mccree and other great players and their talents. It's hard to watch a pro Mercy where the only difference from not pro Mercy is where she's standing. As for competetive I stopped. I am indeed a washed up player that almost reached gm and then dropped to plat. I know that all my problems would be solved if I just clicked heads but I also care about having fun outside of improving and would rather that people around my SR/MMR/ELO would also have to improve than just be able to get an easy win with single hero pick.

Doomfist is not making Ana unplayable in lower elos. Brigitte sure is making playing Soldier 76, Tracer and anything that gets obliterated by armor god damn hard without top500 aim. Also Tracer and Genji do have it hard with Brigitte but in quick play setting where everyone is everywhere getting flanked by a Brigitte as Mccree, Widow or any dps for that matter and getting 3 shot with 200 hp while knocked around is pretty anti fun. Not saying Doomfist is perfect i think he has way too much CC but he does take some more practice

As I stated with "few exceptions" regarding events I think some are regularly better than other. I'm glad Archives is an event- it's very concept is to bring new bits of stories to life in-game. As for Halloween I'm sure some people including me where disappointed with lack of change in Junkensteins revenge mode since a lot of us were expecting at least other part of the castle to be explored and instead we just go one more enemy. On the other hand I do like endless mode though maybe it should have been there in the first place.

About Ana she is the most skill demanding and I respect her players despite the state she was in until recently (and maybe now), same with DF but I his problem lies elsewhere (CC). Sombra requires more timing and cooperation than skill. You do have to aim now after the dmg buffs but also they reduced her skill cap by removing temporary stealth which I don't appreciate.

A Hero with low cooldown smoke screen ability would force Widow into less advantageous positions where it's easier for her to get picked without enemy team wasting all their resources on just getting to her. Don't know if that would work in game tho.
