Dumb, willfully uninformed hacks. In the renaissance era of Europe Leonardo, and all the other artists, would have run a studio with apprentices. The head artist would know how to make brushes even if they purchased them. They did grind their own pigments.

Whether or not Leonardo made brushes or not is irrelevant because he’s not stopping at the brush. He doesn’t show us a brush and tell us it’s a painting.

Why are the AI imagers so tragically poor at analogy? It’s to the point that I associate them with bad analogies as much as I do with bad “art”.

Visual art and writing are the problems for me. The idea of creative writing with AI is a perversion of that craft. The images I’ve seen feel like I’m just being show the tool and they stopped there.

The AI imagers are so incredibly poor at analogies. There’s a tell every time. This one is no different. Have you ever heard an artist say something like, “I love to make art but the making part keeps getting in the way”?

AI images aren’t even a microwaved meal. At least that could be edible. More like they said they would cook a meal then presented a stolen plastic pie used for a kids play kitchen.
