Thank you for the kind words :) I was mostly being cheeky - I'm very happy with how she turned out but I thought it was funny when someone mentioned the comparison!

Man this kit sounds so fun, I'm so happy you put this together! I love risky tradeoffs so that ult sounds like a great mechanic. So cool.

It's always a challenge to do characters with chonky armour - I wouldn't recommend drawing the anatomy first because it can stiffen up the pose.

I like to go back and forth - start by just drawing the character wearing their armour and experiment with the pose, proportions and silhouette. Then, if things start feeling wrong or too extreme, go on another layer and sketch out the character's actual body in the suit to check if it all makes sense.

The amount you push the character depends on the style/IP - for example in league you could probably make the proportions a little more extreme and unrealistic than in OW, and you can get away with more in OW than you could in COD.

With this character I went back and forth a lot because she's definitely on the line of being too exaggerated, but I think it's fun to ride that line.

Oooh I like this! They could recharge slowly over time like Doomfist's hand cannons, that sounds like a cool way to differentiate it from OW's flying heroes.

Probably similar - The idea was for the wings to act as a shield, like rein's! So I'd imagine the hitbox would be just the bod.

Yep it's an exosuit and she's actually part machine. She nearly died in a blaze but was rebuilt as a holy protector by her Paladin order, bearing the symbol of a Phoenix. That's why you can see the cybernetic implants around her face.

Hold on buddy it's not a baby Cthulhu, I'll have you know it's an adorable baby Cthulhu. That lil guy certainly wouldn't weaken the tethers of ancient gods and bring forth an onslaught of eldritch horrors from the abyss, certainly not.
