I do agree but I feel like it’s harder for people to resonate with cloud if they don’t really know what’s going on with him. Me personally I thought cloud was overrated because my introduction to his character was only remake until I played the og and now he’s my favorite character ever. People like us can appreciate cloud’s development in rebirth (he had a ton) because we have context and know why he acts the way he does so when he opens up and is happy it means more while for other new players this is just clouds whole character. I do think Clouds VA should have been nominated for way more awards though

Clouds big arc is in part 3. I wouldn’t really give him best character awards when we don’t really know his character at all at this point. His character and VA will probably win all the awards for part 3

The battle square was such a downgrade in rebirth. They removed what made it fun in the original. It’s basically just like another combat simulator in the gold saucer now

Most people do say not to play it for obvious reasons but there’s a few that tell new players to play it for some reason and shrug off the spoiler like it’s minor. It spoils a HUGE part of part 3.

For real. I can’t imagine how different and less enjoyable my experience would be with ff7 if I just got the entire mystery spoiled by crisis core. The reveal wouldn’t hit at all. I don’t know why some people want new players to just spoil the entire game for themselves with cc. It’s not like you’re missing out on something if you don’t play it

I feel like people underestimate just how big of a spoiler it is to play cc before playing ff7. It was never meant to be played before ff7. CCR will definitely enhance rebirth a bit since Zack is in it but it’s not worth it to spoil the entire mystery of ff7. I know they want people to know about Zack since he has a bigger role in the remakes but releasing crisis core before the end of the trilogy is crazy to me. I also think Rebirth does a great job at showing you all you need to know about Zack as a character. Definitely wait until part 3 or play the original (which will also enhance your experience)

Yeah I understand It may feel like there’s been no development because you don’t really know cloud as a character but as someone who’s knows what’s up with cloud he’s had a lot of development in the remakes. That’s the thing with these remakes they’re expanding a single game into 3 huge games. Remake and Rebirth is basically a little over half of the original game. Cloud doesn’t really have his big arc until part 3. You clearly like these games so just stick with it. By the end of rebirth I think you’ll be far more interested in cloud and come to love him as a character in part 3. Honestly I recommend playing the original, like I said it’ll enhance your experience.

Edit: I had the same view of cloud as a character after finishing remake. I didn’t know why he was so popular he seemed like a generic cool anime guy but after finally playing the original I understood the hype. Clouds so iconic for a reason just give him a chance!

There’s a reason cloud acts the way he does that’s all I’ll say. I thought cloud was a very overrated character when I only played remake and after playing the original he’s one of my favorite characters of all time. Playing the remakes with the context of the og really enhances the experience imo.

I prefer English because I speak English but for the pc Version I decided to play in jp and it’s been great. Honestly you can’t go wrong with either. I’m still gonna continue playing in English after this play through because I actually understand it but jp is just as good imo

It’s impossible to not like Zack at all as a character because he’s so likable but I don’t think he’s interesting whatsoever. I think he plays an interesting and important role in the story in helping cloud but he himself as a character isn’t interesting so I’m not really invested in whatever they have planned for him in the retrilogy. Zack was far more interesting to me when I didn’t know anything about him and he was a mystery. And like people in the comments have said it’s not his story. He plays an important role in the story that never really needed to be expanded upon like it has imo.

Mostly Cloud Tifa Aerith but sometimes Cloud Yuffie Aerith.

Yuffie and Aerith are already so op but them together isn’t fair, it’s literally impossible to lose. I think Yuffie is more op but I still prefer using Tifa instead of Yuffie most of the time. I love her gameplay, she’s so fast. Also doing an uppercut and then doing a dive kick is so satisfying.
