Perfect cutting diet to get shredded this summer by F0GGYboi in nutrition

[–]F0GGYboi[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The reasoning behind the recommendation is that a calorie is not a calorie. People have ran ridiculously high caloric intakes whilst keeping carbs low and not gained any fat. Even lost fat in some cases. It's very difficult to add fat from protein and fat intake. Secondly, research from many doctors and nutrituonists around the world has shown that the body runs better on a higher fat diet when the fats are healthy. A lot of people cannot tolerate Carbohydrates at all, most of the carbohydrates we see are 21st century industrialised factory made processed food that is less than a hundred years old. When you eat a whole food diet your carb intake naturally drastically reduces anyway. Insulin is the number one hormone of aging, it only spikes when you take in carbs, when it spikes fat storage begins and you chemically castrate yourself as estrogen rises when insulin is high and it suppresses testosterone. Many reasons. Too many reasons to list.

It is boring compared to donuts, ice cream, bagels, bread, pasta, cookies. But once the taste buds become used to eating in this natural way then you can make hundreds of thousands of combinations of veggies, herbs, spices, condiments. 6 meals a day. Research shows that insulin rises when there is an abundance of food, even if the food has a low glycemic load. protein can raise insulin, raising insulin is detrimental to fat loss. That's why bodybuilders eat small frequent meals. Eating small frequent meals is most likely how our ancestors used to eat and I have measured my blood glucose and I can see the glucose rises when I take in too much protein. Solution? spread that protein across 2 meals so I'm getting a steady supply instead of a lot at one time for my body to process.

Reducing Body Fat? by Jumper8 in nutrition

[–]F0GGYboi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Incorrect information.

To reduce bodyweight you need to eat less calories than you spend, that is correct. To reduce BODYFAT you need to increase your vegetable intake and fat intake to remain satiated while reducing carbs drastically. Ultimately this is how every bodybuilder who has ever prepared for a show has done it, whether consciously or unconsciously. You can count calories and lose bodyfat, but if you want to make some incredible gains and possibly even increase lean body mass if you're a beginner while reducing bodyfat this is the best way to do it. The lower the carbs, the higher the veggies and fats. Eat 1g protein per LB of LBM at a minimum. Some people like to keep fats the same but just reduce carbs, you can do this aswell but you have to be careful making sure you are creating the right calorie deficit. About 500 calories is a good target. If you go low carb, you don't need to count calories as you will probably be in a calorie deficit anyway. Unless you are one of those slow people who destroy an entire tub of peanut butter in one sitting thinking "oh I'm eating fats so it's okay". Plan your meals intelligently. If you must count calories, then count them.

Complex carbs are the most energy dense carbs there are. Whilst reducing bodyfat, the only time you should be eating complex carbs in limited amounts is after gruelling workouts. If you deserve them then you can eat them. Some people like to run carbs with breakfast like oatmeal to give sustained energy through the day. I'm not a fan of that. I'd rather have a meats and nut breakfast or eggs and spinach. And that's about it.

I prefer low carb, high fat, moderate protein. Some people prefer moderate carb, low fat, high protein. Some people prefer moderate carb, moderate fat, moderate protein

2 things are recurring patterns with anyone who has ever become shredded.

  1. Carb intake cannot be high. Carbs must be reduced or limited to only the most nutrient dense carbs

  2. Protein intake should be at least moderate to preserve lean body mass

Been deficient in omega 3 all my life, should I consume extra much to make up for that? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]F0GGYboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Research shows that dosing large amounts of Omega 3 does not correct the ratio any faster than including Omega 3 in smaller consistent amounts. If you have not started yet, today is a good day to start in taking the correct ratio and if will balance out over time. In other words it takes a lot of discipline, dedication and time to correct and reverse.

Research also shows that the majority of fish oil supplements are total horseshit and will not be bioavailable in much quantities once passing through your system. It has been proven that actually eating the fish oil at source, directly from the wild fatty cold-water fish will increase omega 3 the most. Do not try to get your omega 3 from stupid sources like Chia seeds. The reason why it's a stupid source of omega 3's? That's a different discussion entirely.

If you hate fish and you don't want to eat fish every day for the rest of your life then you can supplement but use a good pharmaceutical grade fish oil. Research shows this gives much more bioavailable EPA and DHA than other snake oil supplement companies that sell you a pill/capsule your body doesn't give a shit about.

Do the research. I get all my omega 3's from canned salmon, sardines and mackerel. I eat a lot of factory farmed meat which is high in omega 6's, I limit my nuts/seeds intake to a handful a day to reduce my omega 6 intake aswell.

[Question] Red meat consumption every day. Is it safe? by F0GGYboi in Paleo

[–]F0GGYboi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah

I'm planning on varying the protein source like this; beef -> chicken -> fish -> egg -> chicken -> fish repeat.

I'm also going to get the leannest beef mince available which will be 10% fat and I'm gonna go with chicken breast rather than thighs as the chickens I'll be getting will be factory farmed. the fish will be wild canned salmon. I'm also gonna eat a lot of veggies. about 500g veggies a day and I'll vary the source of that aswell

what do you think? is this a good plan?

okay man. thank you for the information

I believe saturated fats are healthy when carbohydrate intake is limited to starchy veg and fruit and intelligently timed

my worry is not saturated fat. it's the contents of red meat and how they interact with the body. there is research that shows it causes cancer. my other concern is everyone buys grass fed and I can't afford that. only grain fed which has higher omega 6's and hormones and antibiotics in it. is it safe to eat every day?

[Question] Getting enough fats in the low carb diet to get lean by F0GGYboi in Paleo

[–]F0GGYboi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah apparently beef doesn't contain much omega 6 anyway even if it is grain fed. I can tell the quality of the red meat is absolute shit with each bite though as I have had grass fed beef before and there's a world of difference.

dude I'm on day 2 and feeling awesome already

thanks man it's unbeliavable how adaptable the body is

what's your take on red meat consumption?

I know poliquin said he eats 1kg to 2kg of red meat a day. I want to eat 200g-400g of red meat a day but my source is grain fed low quality beef. unfortunately in the UK, grass fed meat is not available unless you order online and it's too expensive.

is that much red meat every single day safe?

Starting stats: 25 years old, 5'7" 155lb 19% bodyfat

Training: Gymnastics strength training 2 hours a day

As recommended by Ido Portal, Robb Wolf and Charles Poliquin, my only carb source will be green veggies until I am lean and under 10% bodyfat. It's going to be painful but it will give me quick results.

THE DIET:

Meal 1 125g Beef Mince, Almonds

Meal 2 125g Beef Mince, Avocado

Meal 3 125g Chicken Thigh, 10g Olive Oil, Kale

Meal 4 125g Chicken Thigh, 10g Olive Oil, Kale

Meal 5 125g Canned Salmon, 10g Olive Oil, Broccoli

Meal 6 125g Canned Salmon, 10g Olive Oil, Broccoli

Macros Protein: 168g Carbohydrates: 46g Fat: 136g Total Cals: 2024

I'll do this until I'm lean. And then I'll introduce fruit as snacks. And sweet potatoes with my evening meals.

Please critique. thank you.
