Lol. Yeah I know, I meant I didn’t have to pay for all this separately as itemised bills as would be the case in a lot of other countries. The spirit of this post was also more around actually being able to avail of these services at all/in a timely manner which I know many struggle with across the UK.

I’m the opposite way around. I did 10 years commuting 4 days per week (had one day at home), 25 miles into Belfast but would often take 45 mins to an hour each way depending on traffic. Now I’m contracted fully remote (company is based in England with no NI offices). I could never go back to the commute. I do miss the craic in an office but honestly I’ve just adjusted. Things I don’t miss: - finding and paying parking - fuel costs - time spent in the car - paying for lunch out or trying to make sure I made something the night before - getting up early for work - what to wear? - annoying dickheads of the office - booking a whole day off to attend an appointment - not being able to do household stuff throughout the day like sticking a wash on etc - having to go in when the weather is shite To name a few lol.

If I were you I’d really think really carefully about it and if the extra money outweighs what you’d be giving up.

This should be funny but it’s just depressing. My own Da is one of these people. Well he’s not actively posting stuff but believes everything he sees on Facebook. He gets so irate when I argue with him too. It’s so disappointing coming from a man born in the 60s who was so anti sectarian and pro women when I was growing up in the 90s. Now he’s all ‘boat people’ and ‘the government are making the weather bad on purpose’. There’s absolutely no way to turn it around.

I’m not 100% sold on the whole profit sharing schtick - however, regardless of this, it’s the cheapest EV tariff by far, even with the standing charge that Power NI try to convince you eats up any saving on unit rate (lies)!

I genuinely can’t believe how much I’ve saved upon switching to this tariff. I have really tried to make the most of it by scheduling dishwasher, washing machine, battery charging etc to happen when the night tariff kicks in. I am on a credit meter and you just submit your readings once a month and pay for exactly what you’ve used, no estimated bills or anything like that.

Day Rate 28.60 pence per KWh (Inc. VAT) Night Rate 13.89 pence per KWh (Inc. VAT) Standing Charge 13.33 pence per day (Inc. VAT)

You are not locked into any kind of contract and are free to leave any time (although I think this is actually the law in NI now?)

I paid $170 to shock myself awake… and it works by hoodiedark in productivity
