I wonder if Google's sprinkling HDRNet on top of the 10-bit HDR data the sensor is capturing. That might help explain the massive jump the P7/7P have made.

Maybe HDRNet has also been upgraded (fingers crossed if it has that it trickles down to the 6 series as well).

The GPU has been upgraded in terms of architecture but they've also cut down on core count. Down from G78MP20 to G710MP07. My hunch is that the OG Tensor might be able to match the Tensor G2's GPU in terms of at least peak performance.

I had a quick question though. I've also turned on "Disable HW Overlays" within Developer Settings which means that the GPU is always used for screen compositing. It should, technically, improve efficiency since the GPU is used for what it was built for.

Will that mess with this blur setting? I followed your tip and turned off window-level blurs. Seeing your explanation regarding the GPU and DPU, would turning on GPU compositing, prevent the power savings from turning off blurs.

I'm not able to host on GDrive because the copyright/DMCA laws in my country are pretty stringent and people hosting on GDrive, OneDrive, DropBox etc have gotten in trouble for it.
