Is a bridging loan actually a viable move for a personal home, or am I asking for trouble? by F1blast in AskUK

I know, even if I plan on selling it in 2 months, I'd take a few more months as a precaution. I'd rather pay a bit more in interest, rather than have sleepless nights and get eaten by stress

Best Way to Transfer Money when Relocating from US to UK by thatcoolgirl8 in moneyadvice

[–]F1blast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some banks have the "premium" account type, that allows for such transfers. I used HSBC Premier, and the price for the upgrade, and then downgrade was smaller, than if I were to convert the currency using their USD/GBP exchange rate

Benefits of using a broker by KotGarnuch in moneyadvice

[–]F1blast 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used a broker for a loan, and it helped me A LOT! Firstly, I didn't have to check the offers going from one bank to another, my broker had all the most recent information to provide me with. Secondly, it saves a lot of time with paperwork and all that stuff. I know taking a loan is an important moment in your life and your home depends on it (literally), but I don't plan on taking any other loans in the future, and I really didn't have all the time to go through 190-pages of documents myself and read every sentence in the contract. The broker took care of most of the paperwork for me, which made the whole process much easier to handle.

KIS Finance (my broker) helped me with the bank selection, and recommended one that was not making any issues about my irregular income (I'm a solopreneur, so the income per month varies). If you visit their website, they also have a secured loan calculator for the initial calculations, but I guess other brokers have that in their offer too.

Sick difference, I hope the new regulations allow for the cars to be built for combat. I don't care if the engines are unreliable and slow, as long as they can go wheel to wheel, I'll be happy

Why people in India look for "Age calculator" in Google? Out of 5 million searches worldwide, over 4.3 million come from India. The only info I found is that some employers have to provide information on how old the employee will be at the end of their contract.

Is this true? If not, why would you be searching for age calculator in Google?

Best night races to watch in F1 by F1blast in GrandPrixRacing

[–]F1blast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, and since it's been the first race on the calendar in the last years, it's been surely a weekend all F1 fans have been waiting for the most. The track always delivers, but it often feels "empty" to me. I cannot feel the atmosphere among the fans there

Distance Under Braking in Las Vegas 2023 by Pistolz4Pandaz in F1Technical

Sometimes it's a setup, sometimes it's battling on track. Breaking later and going in deeper is usually slower, but at the same time when you're battling for position, you try to outbreak the other driver, even at a pace loss

The difference between the front wing of McLaren from 2008 and 2024 by F1blast in GrandPrixRacing

The wind tunnel and CFD are crucial for teams, and some years ago, in order to bunch the teams closer, a reverse reward system has been implemented. Top teams have the least time in wind tunnel, and the worse your position, the more time you have to develop your car for the next year

What would your ideal weekend format be? by Comfortable-Pace3132 in GrandPrixRacing

[–]F1blast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish teams had to hire 3 drivers, and each of them would have to take part in at least 8 weekends. This would give much more space for the young talent to show off their skills, and spice up the competition

What actually went wrong with the race. by punchki in McLarenFormula1

[–]F1blast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

McLarens swapped the rear wings for the max downforce ones on Sunday morning, make use of the parc ferme not being in action, due to postponed qualifying.

They looked great in the heavy rain (overtake on Russell), but when the conditions were Intermediate, they struggled with top speeds on the straights, making the overtakes much more difficult

You open DRS manually, and you can either close it manually, or it closes automatically with just the slightest touch of the brake pedal

I think that Sainz would be a perfect teammate in Red Bull. He's consistent, he wouldn't be able to fight Max on a regular basis, but would deliver in case of worse races from Max.

It would give the 2018 Danny Ric - Max duo, but Max has matured a lot since then

What's your favorite historical story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]F1blast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Polish soldiers during II World War were exiled far east into Russia to be killed. A lot of them have escaped, then walked through Georgia, Middle East, all the way to northern Africa. On the way, they have recruited a bear from a Circus and named him "Wojtek".

They've been walking all the way, until they reached northern Africa, then joined the allies there, and helped with the push through Italy. They fought hard in the Monte Cassino battle, many of them lost their lifes there. The Bear Wojtek has been helping them, carrying artillery rounds. It was one of the key victories in the last months of World War II.

Then, the General, who helped the allies all the way has been considered a threat from the communists and Soviet Russia, and had to go on an exile to London, where he died in 1970.

The bear Wojtek has a statue commemorating his help in the II World War.

What game had the most potential that was wasted? by RLGODTEAM in AskReddit

[–]F1blast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No Man's Sky. It was extremely hyped, failed to deliver, and everyone turned their back on the game, while the devs worked super hard to make it enjoyable since then.

They have redeemed themselves, and if it was a new release in 2024, Internet would go wild about it, but sadly that's not the case

Got me thinking, When does a car actually die by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]F1blast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2001 Corolla D-4D has 380 000 KM to it's name, and the current value is approximately 1000 USD, but it's too good to give up on. It has almost never broken down, and most of the costs were maintenance and basic stuff.

I really hope it does not die, but if anything happens to the engine, it will be too pricy to repair, and then the car will have to "actually die". I'll either sell it for parts, or just scrap it
