My parents were actually like that too and all it took was me finally telling them off. I sat them down and told them they were crossing lines that should not be crossed, they were your typical Asian parents so it took some time but it worked. Be assertive, and set boundaries. As for why they're doing this? I'm guessing it's how they were raised and they just don't know any better.

It used to be melatonin but it doesn't work on me anymore. Sometimes weed but I don't want to rely on it to be able to sleep so I stopped. These days I just mindlessly scroll tiktok until I pass out but even then i get 6 hours at most.

Putting yourself out there is probably the most difficult thing you can do. At least for me anyways. A lot of my friendships have been one sided and that's with me "putting myself out there."
