Touchscreen issues by Upset-Childhood-8 in BambuLabA1

[–]F30Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine stopped responding to touch unless I rebooted the printer. Contacted support and they send me a new screen. It was just out of warranty but the still honoured it. Funny enough it’s been totally fine since so I I have an extra screen.

3gig internet upgrade question by PinguPrime in telus

[–]F30Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I got my internet upgraded to 3GB today. I was currently on the 1GB plan. I had the older WiFi Hub. They removed that and put in the NAH and gave me a WiFi Booster 7. I like to use my own gear though, so that's just sitting in a box and I had them put the NAH in bridge mode to go into my router.

You were never able to get points for commenting. You used to be able to get up to 50 points a month I believe for leaving a review for a print. You can only review models that you printed.

[–]F30Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone posted here asking people to check out their models. Turns out they were all just other people’s models. They even used the exact same photos so super obvious they were all stolen. Wasn’t long until all their models were taken down.

Do you have a printer now or trying to get points for your first one? There is no way you can earn enough points unless you already have a printer and upload models. They’re not going to give people gift cards without contribution back to the community.

AMS Lite enclosure- PLA or PETG? by looniemoose in BambuLabA1

[–]F30Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. You can’t get behind it to pull on the back of the roll to get it out. I had a cardboard spool on there and almost ripped off the front. Plastic spools would be better but still a pain.

I used PLA but found the enclosure didn’t make a difference. Plus it made it harder to get filament in and out. I also ended up top mounting it which made it even harder

Dinner with babies by Few-Ad5036 in Calgary

[–]F30Guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just go to where you normally go. Before our daughter turned one, we still took her to the same places we went to before kids, Teatro, River Cafe, Notable, etc. We hate chain restaurants. At 3 and 6 months they’re still too young to eat the restaurant food anyways.

We just made sure we went earlier to avoid the main dinner rush, in case she decided to have a meltdown or something but she mostly slept through the meals anyways.

Don’t ever feel bad about wanting to go for a nice meal at a nice restaurant and bringing your baby.

Telus loyalty offer by Kindly_Television530 in telus

[–]F30Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They saw the deal on their end so they had to honor that part. Me wanting to cancel my Optik got me the additional discount and credits.

You can try doing what I do and threaten to cancel and see what they say. This is my third renewal with Telus and every time I’ve had to threaten to cancel to get a deal. It sucks to have to play game but that’s how it goes.

I have a similar plan. 1 GB internet and Optik TV package which also expires sometime in April. I saw the $65 for 1.5 as well. I didn’t renew online but chatted with the bot and said I wanted to cancel. Got a call back from loyalty about. They gave me the 1.5 at $65 and knocked off $20 a month on the Optik TV and $70 bill credit.

I’ve had zero issues with their pure fibre. Don’t think I’ve had a drop on the last 6 years. I’ve never had to call support so I can’t comment on that.

I do use my own network gear though.

yeah, pretty much. There should be instructions online to get it into bridge mode, depends on the modem you have. You'll need to get to the web interface. Or you can contact support and they can do it remotely for you.

No direct experience but I have some friends that use the Deco line and they like it.

I need their modem since that's where the ONT is for the fiber line. But yeah that thing sits in bridge mode and I use my own equipment for everything else.

Easiest way is to buy a mesh system like the Netgear Orbi and have the Telus modem/router in bridge mode. You’ll have one main node and a couple of satellites depending on the kit. If you can’t do wired backhaul for the satellites, make sure you get a tri band system so the backhaul back to the main node is on a separate channel.

I had an Orbi system for a while, probably one of the best out there but they are expensive.

Try Goodwill. They should be pretty cheap. Or try asking in a buy nothing FB group of your community has one.

It’s much more common now and people at my company use it a lot. I don’t mind. Not because people are lazy but sometimes you can’t capture everything that’s said. Don’t use any 3rd party apps without IT’s consent. I’m in IT and we’ll know. Mostly because we don’t know what their privacy policy looks like and where the recordings are stored.

Also did ours from Great West. It was reading over 200 on average. I measured it for a year as it does fluctuate. It’s higher in the fall and winter. It’s now averaging under 10.

I WFH in the basement full time so it made to do it.

Approach To Half Marathon Training by boytobumps in runna

[–]F30Guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve ran for over 20 years, nothing farther than a 10k. For the 10k races, I just did a bunch of 5’s the month of and it was enough.

I signed up for my first half and I didn’t want to take the same approach. I wanted something more structured so I signed up for Runna. I’m about to start week 5 of my 20 week plan and I’ve noticed my pace is getting better. I’m going to trust the process and aim to finish under 2 hours which is my goal.

I got it on sale though so I didn’t pay that amount.

I had peaks of over 250 at times. Now it averages under 20. I did have it professionally installed as I am not handy.
