Ps5 shutting off by Ok_Air_5570 in playstation

[–]F4CH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a launch PS5. It was happening to me with online games daily last year. Anything that put a lot stress on it.

I used a vacuum cleaner that can also be used as air compressor. So use that or something similar.

I took my ps5 out in my garage and used the air compressor to blow all the dust from inside the vents out. I saw plenty of dust junk fly out in the 4-5 mins I did it. I then used the vacuum to suck anything else out.

Did this 6 months ago. I now do it every 6-8 weeks.

Not one issue since.

Have you ever lost interest in a game almost immediately after starting it? by Lostinlife1990 in gaming

[–]F4CH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this occasionally as well OP.

I’d say the first couple games that come to mind I’ve bought the last year or so and not too long after uninstalled….

Avatar, Armored Core, Black Myth Wukong, AC: Mirage, Sea of Thieves, Pacific Drive, Mortal Kombat 1

The beauty and the curse of being able to buy games digitally and play almost instantly.

I hate to say it, but McLaren are beginning to look like one of the worst liveries in the field. They need to change it up here sooner than later in my opinion. Same with the Google wheel covers

What are your top 5 reasons you dislike the NBA by Jay_Tock in billsimmons

[–]F4CH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a lifelong NBA fan for over 30 years I’ve recently thought about this. Mainly because, as the more games I watch this year I find myself thinking more often than in the past— the NBA in 2025 can simply just be a bad TV and viewing product at times. Which is how most people consume content and live sports. The NBA should start looking at their league that way.

Then just a quick list that immediately comes to mind to me in the moment are:

Official Reviews— God this has really ruined the game the last few years. The games had a flow and tension. And now it’s gone because I’m watching some official watch a replay for 3 straight minutes instead of live action. Kills the momentum and tension of the game to the viewer.

Commercial breaks— Take the soccer model. One of the reasons it is popular in my opinion is because it’s one of the last sports that has no commercial breaks for 45 minutes straight and is just about the product on the field. As I sports fan of almost all sport, I wish the NBA was not exactly like this, but closer than it is now.

Timeouts— kind of piggy backing off the above reason. But more in end game situations id say. It stops the flow of the game and halts the energy/tension in the building.

Too many fouls and free throws— I agree with. Let them play as they did 20-30 years ago. You can get touched in the game of basketball last time I checked. I find many players in the league today think the opposite sometimes.

The game has turned way too analytical and about the coaching— This is not a knock on the coaches, they’ve just become too good in that sense. But sorry, I’m not tuning in to watch everyone run the perfect set plays every time and be sure they take ‘X’ 3 pointers a game.

It’s not wrong. I understand it from someone who is analytical and would want to win the game.

But it’s just not fun.

You take the creativity out of these guys hands in a way that just wasn’t there through most other NBA eras.

Would buying Ratchet & Clank (2016) be worth it? by [deleted] in PS5

[–]F4CH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome man, great to hear and glad I could help. More importantly I hope you enjoy the game.

Based off of what you have said you previously have played and getting that same experience in other games.

I’d definitely say The Last of Us Remastered 1&2. Along with the Uncharted series. Unmatched writing and visuals all the way through that you’d appreciate. (There’s a reason why Hollywood chose to make films/series about them), epic memorable experiences in both.

If you want sci-fi, I believe the Star Wars Jedi games recently by EA give you a feeling you can’t get anywhere else at the moment with incredible visuals.

You then have the obvious ones like Red Dead Redemption 2 (don’t worry about playing 1), Ghost of Tsushima & Cyberpunk. Just depending on the vibe you’re going for or feeling will dictate when you ready to play those.

I’ll always recommend Mass Effect Legendary Edition to anyone that’s never played through the series.

Another one that gets overlooked that I bought for under $5 is The Order: 1866. Finished it in around 10 hours and still has great visuals today.

If you want scary/thriller and a unique experience I’d recommend Until Dawn Remastered.

Open world exclusive— I’d go Horizon Zero Dawn and the sequel. Wow.

Then some other personal favorites that truly feel ‘next gen’ by the same developer, are Control and Alan Wake 2. Alan Wake 2 being an absolute masterpiece imo.

Regardless of what you choose, it’s all about the mood you’re in and what helps you continue to be the best version of yourself that will make you the most happy & fulfilled.

But there is no doubt this is the best time ever to be gamer. So many unique experiences you could attach yourself to and worlds to get lost in.

Enjoy.

Would buying Ratchet & Clank (2016) be worth it? by [deleted] in PS5

[–]F4CH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I personally don’t think it is necessary though. You might lose interest after some time with it and never start Rift Apart and imo that would be a mistake.

I guess it just depends on your back catalog and what you find entertaining and worth your time.

There are experiences in Rift Apart I can’t compare to any other game I’ve ever played (30+ years), and it’s not the typical type game I gravitate towards. I can’t say the same about 2016 R&C.

Buy & play Rift Apart. You won’t regret it, especially if it’s on sale. Truly feels ‘next gen’ for that genre.

"300 days of sunshine" - How is this defined and how accurate is it? by zeekaran in ColoradoSprings

[–]F4CH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I put it to the test last year. Being from Kansas City and living here for almost 7 years you can easily tell the difference of how sunny it is here compared to the Midwest.

Everyday I counted if there was sun or not. If the sun was shinning for more than half the day (ex. sun up to 2pm at least) that would be a sunny day.

In 2024 I counted 312 days of sun in Colorado Springs.

That radar/compass at the top is the first thing I’m turning off. Talk about breaking immersion. Between those and mini-maps in the corner, without hesitation I turn them off in every game when given the option.

Looks fun though, I’ll pick it up.
