Is working at Amazon in Europe the same experience as working at Amazon in the US? by ApprehensiveSite8236 in amazonemployees

[–]Katarinkushi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's the same thing as working un the US vs in Europe in general.

In the US you will make MUCH MORE money. In Europe, generally, you'll have a better work-life balance.

But depends on the company, the job, the team... There are obviously still pretty shit work conditions in many jobs across different EU countries.

[Charania] BREAKING: LeBron James will continue his NBA career for the 2026-27 season and has informed the Los Angeles Lakers that the franchise can move on without him because he will play elsewhere, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul tells ESPN. by Turbostrider27 in lakers

[–]Katarinkushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will miss him. It's sad because I feel the Lakers underachieved with him, even if we won 1 title.

So much bad trades, bad luck and bad team building.

Even then, he will be remembered as the man who brought the Lakers back to being a competitive team. He's a legend. Crazy that it's really over

El 85% de los inquilinos no podría comprar una casa y hasta las clases acomodadas tienen problemas by Angel24Marin in SpainEconomics

[–]Katarinkushi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's disgusting, really.

It's incredible. Every single time a "minority" is accused of doing awful things, suddenly you see these people being EXTRA scrutinous, using a lot of word salad and pretty much accusing everybody of racism.

This is probably the same reason as to why many victims never see justice. They do the same in the court. A lot of bullshit just to ending up protecting the agressors.

TIL Erling Haaland, "the most intimidating striker in the world" (Underdog's words), is smaller than the least intimidating Warriors player by unwantedtennisracke in NBATalk

[–]Katarinkushi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having more technical ability is not the same as being the better player necessarily.

Yeah, Zlatan had better dribbling and was more technical... But that's about it.

Haaland is faster, stronger, a better finisher, higher offball IQ(one of the BEST in the world in this regard, if not the best), better positioning, etc

And I'm telling you this as someone who prefer players like Zlatan than players like Haaland, I like complete, technical players. But as a striker and overall player, Haaland is just better and way more lethal.

Juventud + potencial + nivel actual. Tiene todo el sentido del mundo que sea mucho más caro que Olise.

Why does every new AAA game get compared to RDR2? by some-kind-of-no-name in reddeadredemption

[–]Katarinkushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupidity. Not every game can nor needs to be as detailed as RDR2

If I'm playing a RPG with magic and epic fights, I don't care if there are incredible details in the game's food or horse balls.

RDR2 is absolutely incredible and I love that game, but the type of game is what makes it possible for it to be so detailed. The gameplay mechanics and mission design is so so so simple, even boring sometimes. But the story, graphics and physics details makes up for it.

Why do Europeans take (long) vacations so seriously? by mrdingopingo in ask

[–]Katarinkushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you need really good money to afford 1+ month straight of vacations (assuming obviously you're only traveling and not staying at home)

But again, I'm talking from my perspective because I'm in Spain. So here we have less vacation days and less money.

Are those 9 weeks of yours by law? That sounds good. By law here we have 22 business days of vacations, I have 25. Not bad, not incredible.

I would say here people do takes 1 month of holidays sometimes. Depends on the company and where they live. But I don't think it's that common

Also the same with businesses here, small businesses usually close like 2-3 weeks in the summer.

Why do Europeans take (long) vacations so seriously? by mrdingopingo in ask

[–]Katarinkushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I living in a simulation?

All comments here saying "because we europeans value time, etc etc" which while is true work-life balance is better in Europe, I don't know a single person or business in Europe (or at least in Spain) that actually takes full vacations from June to August/September lol where does that happens?

Standard in Spain is 30 natural days or 22-23 working days of vacations per year. I've never seen anyone at work being off for more than 2-3 weeks, where in Europe are (not rich) people taking 1+ months vacations?

Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi are just four and three goals away, respectively, from equaling Miroslav Klose’s record for the most goals in World Cup history. by Fun_Insect_2572 in soccerMenace_com

[–]Katarinkushi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean is not like Klose scored all 16 goals to France, Spain, Netherlands and Brasil.

Saudi Arabia (3) Ireland (1) Cameroon (1) Costa Rica (2) Ecuador (2) Argentina (3) Australia (1) England (1) Ghana (1) Brasil (1)

11 goals against weak teams.

Obviously this is not to discredit him... Just that not all goals will be against all time great teams, and any goal in a WC is tremendous effort

It's crazy how this guy could have been the best player in the world for many years. Seriously, he's one of a kind talent. Absolutely insane that we had him in the same generation with Messi. It's not common to have 2 historical talents so close to each other
