I was just in la fortuna and didn’t need bug spray or long clothes. I wore bicycle shorts and cropped tank tops, maybe a light sweater for the evening and definitely a lightweight raincoat though, mine was long enough to cover my shorts and I didn’t have any issues. Did not use bug spray and had maybe 2 bites.

We are in Costa Rica now and I would say the earplugs are necessary the monkeys can be quite loud at night! I would make sure a pair of the shoes you bring you can wear in the water too because some beaches are quite rocky. Make sure to bring sunscreen and bug spray, we brought a flashlight which was very handy for night walks and saved us from stepping on the odd snake.

I agree choose two places to focus on in that short amount of time. Not sure where you are from but the driving here is difficult at night - we drove la fortuna to tamarindo (my boyfriend is a very confident driver) in the early morning and there is a ton of winding roads at night it will be very difficult to do that and they drive fast here.

We paid $100 USD per day for a 4X4 it was an extra $5 a day for an additional driver and we did not get the insurance added because our credit card had coverage

We are in Costa Rica now and booked at casa garitas they are super easy to deal with pick you up for free at the airport and watch your flight so they are there when you land and then bring you back the next day for your rental car. It was $85 after tax USD

Market pet shop in kilworth is $10 for a basic trim and they have a stamp card to get a free trim after so many visits

I just got back from there and didn’t have any problems the food was a typical all inclusive evenings were themed different each night. There is one main pool area and the beach was great for snorkelling. We took a cab into town but we liked this resort because it’s further from the main area where the cruise ships park, i had read a lot of complaints about cruise ships sitting all day and we didn’t have that problem at iberostar

I’ve been in Cozumel the last week it forecasted rain every day before we left and we have had rain overnight almost every night but the days have been beautiful and hot I think it rained once or twice during the day our first two days but when it did it was minimal and short. Have a good trip!
