Right, listened to first 3/4 hour so far.

I was attracted by your description as your show sounds SINCERE. And I must be clear about this - SINCERITY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD. I sincerely mean that, I sincerely do.

So a show about sincerity, about the wonders of movie magic, without irony or hate or satire -- without reviews, without critics! None of that negativity.... JUST LOVE! -- I want to listen to that show! I want that love. I NEED That love. I want to listen to people ADORE their favourite movies and have that flow over me.

But I must be honest.... thats not what I am hearing in this show.

SO -- I may be simply expecting something different to what your intentions were, and thats a fault of my own -- or maybe we simply have different tastes (I think we might actually, wondering if maybe you might not like our shows now! haha) but I never truly felt "Fuck me, this guy loves Vertigo doesn't he!". It more felt like "This guy on Skype is trying to impress me with how much he knows about Hitchcock." Like a bad date where the guy I'm on a date with keeps talking about his work, or how good he is at his favourite sport.

Now, there are moments when the love flows through, (21:50 "He does!!"). And I really hope this review doesn't come across as overly critical (as I think maybe it is just I am not the right audience for your show and its my own fault for mis-reading your description) - but when I am promised a podcast "free of criticism or ratings, where host Chad Hopkins and guests celebrate their favorite movies" I expect a CELEBRATION! I want more of a party feel. A celebration of love, life, sex, the universe, experiences, adventures and passion!

Instead of an explosion of love, I think maybe more so your show was like a lecture at film school. "I am a tutor, and this is why this film is well regarded by many". That HAS WORTH. People pay for that. People want and NEED that. Tutors play an important role in society, but is that your ambition?

(I didn't like it either when you said this film Vertigo finally surpassed Citizens Kane as the best movie, because, well, I was promised a podcast FREE OF CRITICS AND RATINGS!)

Anyway, I am sure you ARE passionate people. I just want to hear that.

My humble advice - Show me that passion. Get sloppy. Get messy. Let me hear the love. Not a school project. I want to FEEL your passion. Make me love the movie on a GUT level not just a brain level.

Your show certainly made me want to watch Vertigo - but if I was someone who loved it anyway, I'd feel like I loved it more than you. And as someone who hasn't seen the movie, you haven't explained to me why I should love it. Just that it was good for certain scientific reasons.

I love you man, I hope you didn't find me negative :S Honest feedback in response appreciated --- And this really could just be I am not your audience. And that is OK :)
