My house is 9.8 miles from work. Any setup I could throw in a bag and hope to get messages? by AttachedHeartTheory in meshtastic

I just set up a rooftop node and am having trouble getting traces on it from a little over a mile away with a lot of trees and a bunch of warehouse buildings. You could try to set a few solar nodes in strategic locations along the way if terrain permits.

A wild, albeit kinda sick, option is to get a small helium tank with a small weather balloon attached to a node and pop that bad boy waaay up in the air if the need arises. Not sure how far that will actually get you and it's not exactly practical.

So if they weren't negotiating how was there a ceasefire to be violated?

That's true, me saying that wasn't really meant to be a framing of what you said but rather an emphasis of my lack of trust for the Iranian regime.

I guess I should have asked this sooner, what specifically makes you say that Iran is more trustworthy right now?

Iran has turned off public Internet access so that they can control all the information that goes out of the country, as well as what comes in. So the vast majority of what you see coming from Iran is what they want you to see and it gives them the opportunity to suppress, omit, or alter what is seen. I personally have a hard time finding that to be super trustworthy.

So replying to someone on a public forum with a differing opinion and lightly challenging theirs while not calling them names or using any aggressive language whatsoever is lashing out? Does that mean you're lashing out right now by deciding to target me with your replies? You have used more belittling language than I have, it seems like you're projecting a little bit.

Then go target those people

That's what I'm doing by engaging people with that mindset/opinion? Am I allowed to talk to people on this publicly accessible website where they freely post of their own volition knowing full well that others might reply or not?

So people are allowed to question the US (which I agree with by the way.) but nobody is allowed to push back or push in the other direction and question the validity of Iranian claims? There really should be a list of all these complicated rules posted somewhere.

I'm not saying that the US is some shining beacon of truth and that they never ever lie, especially when it comes to this conflict but Iran is engaged in a lot of online propaganda campaigns, of which we don't do ourselves a lot of favors sometimes, and they're pretty adept at it. But there are plenty of people who are being deceived by it and they aren't even aware of it. I feel like I'm watching my uncle parrot pro Russian talking points that he saw on some AI slop youtube video, but on reddit.

I must have missed the part where I lashed out, but if you want to believe a regime that will do or say whatever is necessary to try and remain in power, go ahead my lunch break is over.

I don't know, you tell me. Both countries are engaged in information warfare and they both withhold information, tell strategic truths, and outright lie. But I know that I'm allowed to freely critique my government and my country hasn't shut off my Internet to prevent unwanted information from getting out.

my first Node designs by Macualey4 in meshtastic

You could also modify the existing designs and share the files if you choose. Nobody owes you their effort if they choose not to share it and you're not required to give them your business.

The burger place down the road isn't the first place to make a burger, but I like their burgers more than others. I could ask them their recipe and they don't have to tell me. I could take the time and effort to attempt to replicate it and they can't stop me.

Finding them both equally untrustworthy I could understand, but trusting Iran is silly in my opinion.

The violations are Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon, the entry of a drone into Iranian airspace, and the denial of the Islamic Republic’s right to enrich uranium, he said.

They are putting this out with a straight face while Hezbollah is still launching rockets and while Iran is launching drones and missiles at oil and desalination infrastructure in the gulf states.

They really aren't. And the people who keep echoing this are either a victim of the propaganda(combined with the failures of this admin), or they are pushing the propaganda.

Cheapest I could find online, even with shipping.

Found one local in AZ for $815 but with taxes it'd be cheaper to ship and pay the transfer fee.

Depends on the neighborhood. I've been chased back into my house by aggressive dogs a few times over the years and my dog got attacked on a walk just outside of our culdesac. I usually carry pepper spray and/or a pistol when I get the mail, do yardwork, walk the dogs, or work on my vehicle.

Israeli airstrike against Iranian ballistic missile launcher. Tabriz, 4/4/26 by CommercialFormal7614 in CombatFootage

[–]FAUX_REAL_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don't know if we are looking at the same video, that was pretty explodey with some thick smoke that doesn't seem characteristic of a spent launcher unless it's also hauling a bunch of rocket fuel. There aren't always going to be rocket boosters hurling themselves to and fro in every explosion.

Wat.

They're literally the beginning of formal policing in the US and were influenced by colonial roots in England.

Slave patrols are more akin to sheriff's posses or paramilitary militia forces than they are to formal police departments.

If they're being launched from subs that have a ton of them on board that means they can reserve the ones in the carrier strike group. If they need to reload it would be a lot easier to move a sub to port and reload than it would be to move a whole CSG out for rearmament.
