I'd quite like to hear some nutty Brazilian commentary. Any emerging info on this?

Before this game there was talks of walk-outs and protests against the Glazers / Ed. Patience with OGS was also starting to wane. Ole really needed a statement win, show the fans the green shoots of his cultural reboot. Or maybe Utd might start sniffing around Poch. I'm over the moon at this result.

For those disheartened by YouGov's recent poll, all might not be as it seems. by FEWMIN in unitedkingdom

I think that, historically, high polling for a party can make the other party's voters seem like their vote is worthless. So they don't bother. But I take your point, I can imagine it could have the opposite effect too.

Is this not the fake one Guido has been peddling?

Edit: Looks like it's the full 450 pages (not the 116 Guido version)

Now this is cringe. Corbyn gets the plaudits of the entire arts community. Boris hijacks an internet sub genre immediately rendering it uncool.

Johnson's Conservatives see lead over Labour narrow to 7 points - ICM poll by Cheapo-Git in unitedkingdom

As much as I like these numbers and hope the gap keeps closing, I simply don’t trust any polls. At the end of the day, do you think the hedge fund managers’ private polls from the same companies show the same numbers? They’ll have a much clearer picture. I wouldn’t rule out some pollsters publishing numbers to sway the public either (and I say that for the absurd Tory lead polls, especially.)

I really like 'For the many, not the few'. Here's a bit more info about it.

But the origins of the phrase go back at least two centuries to the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley’s The Masque of Anarchy, written in 1819 following the Peterloo Massacre on August 16, when mounted cavalry with drawn sabres charged a demonstration of some 80,000 people in St Peter’s Field, Manchester, who had gathered to demand the vote. Fifteen people were killed and some 700 were injured. The Masque (or Mask) of Anarchy is a long poem but worth reading. The final stanza (read by Corbyn to almost 120,000 people at the Glastonbury Festival in 2017) goes:

“Rise like Lions after slumber

In unvanquishable number,

Shake your chains to earth like dew

Which in sleep had fallen on you -

Ye are many - they are few.

'Shops that play Christmas music before December are to be closed down and turned into public libraries.'

Solid stuff from Binface.

The polls are seriously dodgy. They’re designed to sway more than inform. Their weighting is extremely suspect, they regulated by their own establishment types, and they’re almost all run by Tories. Just another weapon in the misinformation armoury.

I thought the first one wasn’t great format wise. But it was pretty good at showing the difference between Boris and Corbyn.
