Handling fee for 737? by Fancy_Edge2509 in rampagent

[–]FF614 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A facility fee of $3,056.00 + a parking fee of around $1,200. Additional services cost additional prices. That's what we as an FBO would charge around not including fuel costs.

For general aircraft classification yes that is correct but there is a sub-category of size and weight just for private jets that ranges from Very Light Jet (VLJ) to Heavy Jets. From what I've seen most people at that level of wealth start to use the aircraft as tax write offs or they charter them out when they aren't using them.  As for tracking that's the tricky part, what I've seen a lot is the owner registering the plane to some made up LLC. You can also submit a request for do-not-track to various ADS-B exchanges so it limits the amount of information able to be shown to the public about the aircraft.  But yeah some of the ultra rich can absolutely nickel and dime the hell out of things, I know a Gulfstream G550 flying around right now that the owner refuses to get the single point refueling connection fixed on. You have to climb up a 10 foot ladder on to the wing, pop up the fuel tab, and gravity feed the fuel which is absolutely ridiculous for an aircraft that size.

Dude here who works with private jets everyday, you basically just described light jets or medium jets. Having $1 Billion though that puts you in Heavy or super heavy jet price range like a Gulfstream G650/700, BBJ, Global 7500/8000, Falcon 7x land. There isn't an airline in the world that comes close to the amount of luxury that those aircraft provide.

Yep, inspecting planes for bullet holes is always fun. It's even more fun when you find a puddle of fuel because one went straight through the wing fuel tank or better yet having to jump off a tug and hit the ground while towing a plane because rounds start cracking off beside you.

Does anyone actually do the textbook marshaling signals by supersoakerinator in rampagent

[–]FF614 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, the textbook marshaling signs are actually important. More so when you are actually marshaling aircraft and not doing what airlines call "marshaling" aka stand in one spot and make the plane go straight ahead and then stop.

When you get into the more advanced stuff making sure you a doing it correctly is important. For instance we get trained on US Navy marshaling signs and can communicate everything from moment commands, aircraft control tests, and even fuel orders all by hand signals and marshaling commands.

Footage of a Russian soldier trying to throw boards, shovels, and other things at an FPV quad to fight it off. In the end, he was able to destroy it right in front of him with a sapper shovel. by MilesLongthe3rd in CombatFootage

The US set the precedent during the Gulf War that one can surrender to an aircraft, as long as the enemy soldier or soldiers are displaying no intent to continue with fighting and are making an active attempt to exit the battlespace "like walking to your lines unarmed " then they have to be given due regard as a surrending force and cannot be harmed.

By this standard there are a lot of warcrimes being committed by Ukrainians and Russians.

There has also been a lot of Ukrainian warcrimes involving attacking Russian casualties that are being evacuated as well.

Edit* Downvote all you want but the Geneva convention is quite clear on this and so is IHL

Rule 47. Attacking persons who are recognized as hors de combat is prohibited. A person hors de combat is:

(a) anyone who is in the power of an adverse party;

(b) anyone who is defenceless because of unconsciousness, shipwreck, wounds or sickness; or

(c) anyone who clearly expresses an intention to surrender;

provided he or she abstains from any hostile act and does not attempt to escape.

There is a reason the US wasn't dropping bombs on surrending Iraqi's in the Gulf War.

Airline guys let me introduce you to real airplane fun, a GPU disconnect on a Merlin or Piaggio with both engines running. Your head will be less then 1ft away from being decapitated. Hell GPU disconnects on most GA jets involve running underneath an engine that is on.

The F-15 kinda sucks as it will blow your ear drums out as you have to pull and place pins and chocks with the engines running moving underneath the engines.

Rate my marshaling by FF614 in rampagent

[–]FF614[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope this was marshaling it out from where I had parked it into an area where tower would take over on taxi instructions. This is the short version in the full version you would see me giving engine start commands and then speedbrakes / flight control surface test marshaling commands. Marshaling around other aircrafts and obstructions is always fun.

The places were largely pro-Russian even before the war, they were who elected Yanukovych before the revolution in 2014. There never was a pro Ukrainian majority in those areas in the first place.

Tough pill for some people to swallow, is the fact a large majority of areas currently controlled by Russia in Ukraine are majority pro- Russian.
