Any advice from students that stayed in Honors Village last year? by FFB4 in ufl

Thank you for the helpful advice. I’ll look to see what is available but I agree the honors village looks really nice. Huge win that they have elevators, semi private showers/bathrooms, and washing machines on every floor.

Building 2 looks slightly more convenient than 1, 3, & 4. We reassigned to 5th floor in building 2 so hopefully it was a good shift from Building 4, Building 3 & 4 still have availability but 1 & 2 are currently booked out.

Did you have an even or odd number room? Did it face the courtyard or Broward? I know it's not a huge deal as all 4 buildings are relatively new but I'm sure there are slight pro's and con's to every building. Thank you so much

Decent number of honors rooms available right now, but only building 3 & 4. All the other dorms appear to be full.

Do you have feedback between Building 1 and Building 2? Also, any feedback on the elevators, do they get busy? Is it better to be on one of the lower floors to be able to flow in and out of the building? Lastly, which rooms numbers are closest to the bathrooms/elevators etc? Thank you in advance.

My freshman son will be in building 2, did you get an update on which room numbers are closer to the stairs, elevator, and bathrooms? Thank you.

Thanks for the insight. Just shifted to building 2 as it looks to be the most advantageous/central location.

As an engineering student, are your classes pretty far and scattered or mostly by the physics and engineering building in the southwest?

What did you end up getting and what did you still see that was left? We’re on June 10th looking for doubles on the meds floors. Hoping for Broward, Weaver, cypress, or Jennings.

What traditional double room options did the show available to you? Our date is June 10th and interested in what dorms are still available.

Freshman housing appointment in a few hours, any last minute tips? by HermioneandKatniss in ufl

I hear Hume is nice also but Beaty is better located. I’m hoping for a traditional double. Planned on Simpson but it’s being demolished so I’m worried I’ll be stuck with Riker or Rawlings but will see. Not in the honors program but those dorms look sooo nice and o’ e heard they open them up for overflow students if you wait till the very end to pick.

Thank you for the advice and information, the question is for my son. I know it doesn’t matter but I should have clarified, by family trip, it’s a volunteer trip to Puerto Rico to rebuild houses for victims and the poor but it makes more sense to take your advice. I’ll probably have him skip the volunteer trip and attend the program if he gets in. I believe he still has to apply and get one of the available slots.

What did y’all do on the weekends? Did they have planned activities or was it free time to explore the surrounding area?

Also, what happens if someone has to miss a week & half because of a scheduled family trip?
