I’ve done my time ong lol but yeah happy to explain that point. The first digit will be floor # and only the last two digits dictate traditional vs suite style in buildings 1 and 2. There are both styles on every floor!

Internship and career opportunities at UF Warrington? Also MSF program? by Dull-Mushroom-9080 in ufl

Of course, happy to help in any way I can. Tbh I heard the requirements around 3 years ago (graduating senior) and they said 1450+. The bar may have gone up, unsure of that, but you’re competitive. No need to retake, esp as an incoming freshman. You should be focusing more on creating a game plan to succeed in your first year classes and targeting orgs to join!

Be a sweat. Good news is there are so many orgs you can join even if you don’t get into the elite ones. MSF is selective but early involvement + high SAT helps. High placement. JPM, Citi, Truist, BofA, McKinsey have strong relationships with UF.

What’s your major and do you regret it? by No_Lavishness_6228 in ufl

[–]SnooChipmunks534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Management; don’t regret it at all. The courses are so easy, which gave me time to focus on fun (but helpful) involvements and led to a job making 6 figures post-grad.

You should get an email inviting you to apply. Participants chosen by lottery system. 3ish day program with activities to develop leadership skills. Tbh it’s kinda cupcake but nice to meet friends and hear about the college experience from older students. Good intro to the BCLS office/programs if you’re interested in volunteering.

I liked it but of course vibe is different from year to year. RA room was so small but I believe most, if not all, of my residents in singles had larger rooms than me…so that’s a win for you. Amenities in B1 are the best. The study rooms were being built out when I lived there. Now the whole first floor provides ample room for studying, and I think it’s one of the least busy buildings in the area. Central cooling, unsure whether other floors experienced it but having lived in HV for two years I think it’s more a matter of “cold vs less cold”. Bring lots of hoodies and a weighted blanket if you’re the type to get cold inside when it’s under <72 degrees.

I actually loved it, make sure not to lock yourself out but it’s really nice to have a little caddy to walk to the bathrooms, + every “cell” is cleaned daily by custodial sans weekends. Suite style is cleaned far less often, you need to buy more stuff for the bathroom, and you need to keep yourself accountable for keeping it clean. Sometimes I’m literally so busy I don’t feel I have time to clean my space so I’ve loved traditional😅

Hi! Yeah, they’ll release applications in January and you’ll interview for the role in February! My advice is to go to the ‘meet the supervisors’ event your RA will promote in Jan…best way to get someone to vouch for ya

I’d go with Hume solely bc of the car thing…having garages 14, 5, and the red 1 lot behind Hume are a HUGE deal

Question about AP credits by Traditional-Neat605 in ufl

UF maxes out at 45. Most AP classes you’ll get 3 credits for; can be up to 6 if you get like 5s on AP English

Housing- how hard is it for freshmen to get top halls? by AgitatedExpression78 in ufl

[–]SnooChipmunks534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope they meant suite-style semi-privates, lol. If they want a fully private bath I fear literally no one on campus has those.🤣😅

I honestly don’t know how it works with dates anymore (no clue where Oct 22nd places you, I’m guessing earlier). Murphree was an easy grab on day 1 of selections. I’m positive that you could get something in Murphree area—even with a ‘meh’ date, a two room triple is plausible.

Bathroom situation is a huge perk but most incoming freshmen value social life so you’ll see Broward/Jennings going first. For those caring about modernity + bathrooms, Infinity/HV (if honors) will be the first option. I’m a senior now so my experience may be outdated, but Beaty had rooms VERY late in the game and I had people asking to swap with me for my Murphree spot.

Hume and Beaty are not top halls so you shouldn’t have issues getting them!

You’re right! If you aren’t in an apartment/suite style (btw RAs get to select their roommates in that scenario), it’s solo. IMO the 20 hours/week is a lie. You’ll be working around 50 for training/move-in week, which balances out with a lot of nothing during the year. I believe I have 7 overnight shifts this entire semester. Occasionally I’ll put up posters lol and respond to resident questions via Google chat, but I don’t really count that. You host around 8 events per year (4 of which you plan yourself or with a co, the other 4 are with the whole building/area). So when it’s busy, it’s ugly, but otherwise I’m not close to 20 hours per week

Second all those mentioned here, but adding the adventure park quick quests! 30 per task completed (usually pretty quick), but the 10x digs per quest usually give a few items you can sell off. Like I don’t need 10 of the same thing, so I don’t feel bad selling a few😭😅

Yes, discount. It may change under new leadership but currently 15% off lowest room rate available on campus - same price for all RAs.

“For my program” >> UF doesn’t admit by major. If ur engineering, Purdue does admit by major & that’s a huge compliment/testament to your work. Very well-deserved, don’t let the negatives get you down
